It seems like the true gambler amongst us is schleck93, who put all his earnings into an outside favourite, Oscar Freire, for the Milan San Remo, and it worked. A massive lead now and I think we all know who’ll be winning come the end of the season.
Still, a bit of a learning curve for me with the odds, and a bit of a learning curve for you all as you should all take a bit of risk and do as schleck93 did!
Next race up starts tomorrow with a short prologue.
The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.
Odds for the favourites stay open until the 2nd stage (or the 1st stage if you count the prologue as a stage 0).
Last year, PCMBenelux organized the World Championship in PCM08 - a championship that was eventually won by Paul-Boogerd (road), Joem (Elimination) and Gheto1 (Keirin). Thiis year, it's Cycling Manager Italy's turn.
As with last year, there's both a championship in road race and in track cycling. The next World Champion will win a copy of PCM10 while the track winners will be able to get a game from ImboGams, an Italian game shop. There's also a few smaller prizes for the runner-ups.
With the Paris - Nice and Tirreno - Adriatico behind us, we've seen the first hints of those in form, and those, sadly, out of form riders, just before the first monument of the season.
The Milan San Remo is an extremely important race for many riders, with the reaction Cavendish giving last year example of just what it means to a sprinter. Whilst some sprinters need tonnes of chances at victory, others need very few, and in the remaining few years, sprinters don't even get a look in.
Milan San Remo
It seems logical to point out the obvious at this point. This is a betting article, as such, you should hopefully see why the favourites get the odds they do. If you have no concern over the PCM Betting System, that's not to mean you shouldn't read this, hopefully it might provide a bit of insight into a rider you've overlooked, or just give you something to argue with me about!

Its time for the latest scores updates from our Fantasy game!
In January Andre Greipel was the key rider, scoring much more than anybody else, and allowing those teams who picked him to top the leaderboards. Many then swapped him out, but those who did not benefited - as Greipel turned out to be the 2nd best scorer this month! The German's 274 means he is the best rider overall, but the best in February was Boasson Hagen - 2nd in Oman, 6th in Het Niewsblad and early race leader in Qatar all helped him to 303 pts. Dumoulin, Freire, Flecha, Rojas, Haussler, Farrar and Petacchi all also took more than 200 points. Dumoulin was also the 2nd most efficient rider this month - and now the most efficient rider overall - as he continues his strong season start. Montaguti was the most efficient for February, with Qatar winner Wouter Mol also up there.
The best fantasy team this month were Firmly Grounded, with 1317, Dumoulin and Haussler being their top scorers. TellyBellies and Team Boogie Woogie complete the top 3, but in 4th were January leaders LDF - Velingnews.com - and so they remain at the top of overall standings. They have quite a lead now, Tinkoff Revival are still 2nd but have lost ground. Up to 3rd now are Huffy Test Team, the team of jack888 our TDF Fantasy game winner from last year, with the Top 5 being completed by 2 of 5 new entrants into the Top 10: Team Kirkegaard and Bonnet de Douchebag.

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our administrative team here at PCM.daily: Rjc_43.
He has already been helping out for some time, through his jersey making, management game work and of course co-running our 2010 Fantasy Game, but it is the Fantasy Betting which will be his main sphere of control - so you should now see much more bets being produced, to make that system more active and competitive.
