With the preliminary work having started on the second version of PCM.daily's 2010 DB, it's also time to check whether there are anyone out there who are interested in helping out. We have a few 'positions' up:
First of all, we need one or more who follows cycling a lot and knows how the PCM stat system works in order to update the stats to reflect what has happened in the 2010 season so far.
Second of all, we're also working on updating the photos (2010 team photos). In order to have some sort of 'standard', we'd prefer to let one guy do the job, but since it's a rather huge job, we may turn it into a 'community event', like previous years.
Other than that, we are, as always, interested in hearing from anyone who feel that they can contribute. If you do, PM me.
Over the past years, PCM.daily has always made some sort of joke on the 1st of April. Usually, we (try to) fool our members, but this year, we wanted to do something else: to fool other PCM-sites and their members - and we're glad to say that we succeeded.
With the headline "New features in PCM10 announced" (edit: the news article has been deleted from the site and replaced with an explanation to the members), PCMNorge goes on to describe several features which Cyanide has previously denied being part of PCM10, e.g. an extended track mode and "Be a Pro". Why? Because they earlier today received an e-mail which was supposedly from Cyanide .... but in reality was from PCM.daily ;)
The PCMNorge members did seem rather estatic on the news, though. Pellizotti said that it sounded fantastic, although he did express some concerns with the possible amount of bugs. Obkris mentioned that he now looks even more forward to PCM10, while TwaZi thought that the Be a Pro-mode was "Awesome!". Lampre will undoubtely be the most disappointed. He has never looked so much forward to a PCM release, he said on the forum.
But in the end, we're sorry to say this - but we fooled you, PCMNorge!
Happy April Fool's Day everyone. You can see the e-mail that we sent by clicking Read More.
Now into the final week of the month, the transfers for our Fantasy Cycling game open once again. As usual you will have until the end of the month to bring in up to 4 riders into your team, while removing as many as is necessary. Remember that your team always needs to be under budget, and have at least 16 riders - of which 5 or more must be from ProContinental teams. You can check the forum if you need a reminder of your current team line up.
April is a big month in cycling, with numerous top races to consider. With Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix for the cobbles, and also the Ardennes trio of Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallone and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Vuelta al Pais Vasco and the Tour of Romandie are the month's two ProTour stage races, while the HC races are GP Miguel Indurain, Scheldeprijs and the Presidential Tour of Turkey.
Your changes can be PMed to either Rjc_43 or SportingNonsense, or posted in the comments section here.
With the first trailer of Pro Cycling Manager 2010 having been revealed last month, it's now time to have a look at the 2nd one. Again, the main focus is the environment which, admittely, does look stunning. Enjoy - and thanks to Julian for the tip.
