With voting having closed earlier this week, it's finally time to announce the winners of the 2021 PCM.daily Awards! As always, there were a variety of winners, new and old. Some categories were nailbiters to the very end in a competitive field, others showed that one nominee clearly rose above the rest in their field.
The winners and runner-ups are all revealed below, and the full results have been posted into each thread in the Awards subforum. Thank you to all who voted, and congratulations to all those who will take home an award! You shall claim your banner below and frame it in your signature for posterity, courtesy of cunego59.
2021 has come and gone, and it is once again time for the PCM Daily awards! It's time to recognize the people who make this site the amazing community it has been for over 15 years, and to argue about how the year has gone in the real cycling world. The recipients shall have their names ring out for posterity.
As always, we must first go through the nomination phase. You may nominate up to three users/races/projects/etc. for each award category. If you can't think of 3 nominees for each category, that's no problem. You may place fewer than 3 nominations for a category, or skip categories entirely. Of course, we encourage you to nominate for as many categories as possible so your voice is heard and we have enough nominees for each award.
Then, once all the nominees are in, we will transition to the voting phase. Each category will have a thread posted in the awards subforum, and you may vote in the poll there. Note, results will be hidden until the voting period closes. Then, after voting closes, the winners will be revealed, along with their unique signature banners.
to conclude our work on the 2021 season, we have one more stat update for you. It takes the results of all races until mid-November into account and covers all three divisions. We also included a few new riders, mostly promising youngsters who've called attention to themselves recently.
This time, we also have a version of the update for PCM20. You'll find the download link and installations instructions for that one here, and for the PCM21 version here, as well as through the download section menu, of course.
With that, our eyes turn forward to the 2022 season. Our aim is to present you with a 2022 database early in the year, but obviously, such an endeavor takes time and we're reliant on other peoples' works (specifically on jerseys and stages). If you'd like to help out, either with that or with just about any other thing (no special prior knowledge is necessary), please PM cunego59. We'd very much appreciate it.
while work on other parts of the database has been slow - apologies for that -, our stat team has been working hard and we're happy to present you a stat update just in time for the Vuelta. Tafiolmo and Croatia14 bring you up-to-date evaluations of riders in all three divisions, from the very elite to the depths of CT.
We'd also like to thank the members who continue to support us in the Stats Discussion Thread. That input is very valuable to us and continues to be reflected in the actual stats.
We hope you enjoy! The PCM.daily Database Team
[News on additional updates to the DB will come as the work progresses, hopefully we'll have more resources in the upcoming weeks]
