Man-Game Madness

The off-season has picked up pace again. Teams are now selecting and confirming their 2015 equipment and just this weekend you can now submit your 2015 Goals! This is one of the biggest parts of the game as it will define your budget. There's also hints that the first DB will drop this coming week, so we really are cracking on now.

Story Games Summary

EPIC verges on its first Season Break. The final races are topping off in Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands. It's also time for teams to apply for Part 2 races looking forwards. Finally the Continental Championships startlists have been confirmed with the events taking place on the 2010 WC course around Geelong.

ICL has completed it's WT triple header. The races in Germany, Guatemala and Japan providing plenty of talking points as some riders overperformed ad some underperformed. We await the next rankings update eagerly as eyes turn towards the Tour.

Ian Butler's CX: A New Dawn is going to finish it's opening season tonight with a race from Dunkirk. A lot of Season 2 planning has been going on regarding the calendar and new riders, teams and transfers. Keep an eye out in the coming week for information on how to join in a well loved and well run game!

Thread of the Week

In a quiet week for real news it's been a hugely busy week for forum discussions. The Stanley Cup Playoffs and end of the NBA regular season sparking action in their relative threads. But it's hard to look beyond the Cycling forum for the biggest action. Paris-Roubaix rumbled long into the week before attentions shifted to the Hilly Classics 2015 thread. Other Races thread as usual has been busy alongside a steady stream of News In April. But my thread of the week goes to Eddy Merckx and his 445 pro wins which was revived and lead to some nice talk about the greatest cyclist of all time.

Spring Classics Online

Cyanide put the time in to give us a patch to get Online working again, so it's only fair we use it. PCM.Daily's Spring Classics Season is back! Over three nights we will be competeing over 5 classic race routes: MSR, RVV, PR, FW and LBL! The racing is planned to begin on Wednesday 15th. For more details and to register your interest make sure you read the thread here.

Stories of the Month

It's not exactly the end or start of a month but it's been a while and the Story sections are buzzing. the_hoyle's new venture The Domestique is gathering good pace and shows lots of promise. For more PCM14 based reading try Shonak's Lotto Soudal: The Career Report.

PCM13 seems to be the beating heart of story writing for now. Jakstar22's
Nairo Quintana - Quest to Win em All rocks onwards. tsmoha takes his NRS 2015 to New Zealand. redrobert is all new with his Bancolombia adventure. Lastly Karl Hammarling completes TheManxMissile's epic story at long last.

Or if you want something old school Sutty is well on his way to breaking records with Team Novo Nordisk on PCM12. Or if PCM11 is more your thing then Ian Butler is back with Flamme Rouge.

Story Games Summary

EPIC finally completed January with the conclusion of San Luis where Peter Sagan won out after many many many weeks of racing. Catalunya keeps the WT active as does the anticipation of more cobbled classics. The Criterium International and KBC De Panne more than occupied the PCT, and several WT, teams. Momentum is good at the moment as the Season Break approaches.

CX: A New Dawn draws close to the end of it's first season. Still a few races to go but most of the titles seem to be wrapped up at this point. Keep an eye out for the end of the year and a chance to join in a surprisingly popular and successful game in the future.

Riding on CX's tail comes Triathlon: A New Start. As you could guess it's about Triathlon and will follow a very similar set-up to CX. Luck is wished to it for the future.

Thread of the Week

There's no denying it will be a Cycling forum thread, nothing else even comes close. The Womens Cycling 2015 finally got more comments thanjust myself. If someone could explain how the DDV|E3|GW thread is still going? There's been plenty of Other Races 2015 to talk about, not least Vuelta al Pais Vasco 2015. But my Thread of the Week is probably incredibly obvious. It's Paris Roubaix 2015 which takes place tomorrow.

Please get stuck into the conversations as some of you already have been doing before the official launch. Enjoy yourselves and let your inner Sky love flow free and unfettered!!!

Thomas Favorite for Flanders

Geraint Thomas had an amazing three days in Flanders this weekend. He began on Friday with a destructive E3 Prijs. Easily following the attacks on the cobbled bergs he was in the right group that stole away to contest victory. On the final run in he was no match for the roasted Sagan or the tired Stybar. Arguably Geraints biggest win yet, almost certainly his best!

Sunday brought winds and rain to Gent-Wevelgem. Big G was up to the task once again as he made the winning breakaway move. Mother Nature tried to stop him by blowing him off the bike but such is his all-round skill he powered back to the group with minimal help from the team cars. The hesitance from Etixx allowed Paolini away before the ever gentlemanly Thomas allowed Terpstra to take 2nd place as he settled for 3rd.

Going towards the weekends major showdown in Flanders Geraint Thomas is the obvious favorite. He will be man marked all day long, so is this a chance for Stannard or even the legendary Wiggins to slip away to win? Tune in on Sunday to find out!

Brand New Management Game!

SportingNonsense has come up with the brilliant and unique idea to run a PCM based Management Game. We've already had 11 teams created ready to take each other on in this battle of wits. The DB is unconfirmed at this moment but expect it to be the brilliant PCMSky Stat Upgrade DB combined with the British Calendar Update!

Thread of the Week

In a week where Sky have been as dominant as usual the E3 Prijs 2015 thread comes close to it, full of support for G. The upheaval of Riis is sure to bring action back to the Tinkoff Doping/Hate thread. Then there is the brilliant CONQUER THE WORLD WITH TEAM SKY (CQTWWTSKY) game just starting up. But this weeks Thread of the Week is Café Brailsford: The Sky's The Limit the all new place for general Sky chat!

Weekly News

Week off to make way for some actual PCM15 news and a busy weekend of ManGameness.... back now!

PCM14 Tools

TiemenD has given us a collection of three simple editor tools. Rather than having to fuss around with a complicated full on editor these tools are designed to be super simple and quick, often taking no more than a type and a click. There's a Team Changer, a Money Changer and a Date Changer. Really really easy to use they work very well for making easy changes to a save game! You can get them from the downloads section here.

Spring Classics

We are about more than just PCM here and the real cycling season has kicked into its spring time overdrive! The Cycling section contains all you could want to satisfy your cycling addiction. This weeks Flanders action has a thread, and there will be more separate WT race threads for the other classics. Catalunya has it's own thread, and keep an eye out for a Pais Vasco thread. For smaller races we've got the Other Races thread which is always up-to-date with the latest results from across the world. Plus the News thread to keep yourself abreast of the latest news.

This time of year also comes with big Fantasy betting! nobeer currently leads with a big $1,673! dominocx chases with $1,281 ahead of Szczena on $900. Plenty of races and chances to bet coming up in the next weeks so it's certainly worth getting stuck in.

Man Game Madness

Hard to miss the Man-Game at the moment. The Off-Season is upon us in full force so you won't be escaping it any time soon either. No more chances to join this season but that doesn't mean it isn't a good time to start following. New 2015 Team HQ's are going up alongside calendar reveals. Head to Twitter for some great snippets of chat from teams and all the latest announcements.

Story Games Summary

EPIC is right in the midst of it's own Spring Classics time. Tom Boonen staying upright to win E3 ahead of Vanmarcke and Cancellara. In the last couple of weeks we also had Kittel win MSR ahead of Sagan and Hanzen. Gent-Wevelgem and more are just days away so plenty of EPIC racing to be found.

The ICL has passed through the Giro! Chris Froome walked through the three weeks without trouble whilst Marcel Kittel swept up sprints left and right. The ICL speeds along with various other races like AToC and Tour des Fjords recently. Tons of racing to see there.

Finally CycloCross A New Dawn has almost completed its first season! The World Championships were held today and deliver all the promise such a race holds. An excellent report is worth a read. Not long until the season will conclude and new players will be welcomed in.

Thread of the Week

So many choices! Cafe Pedro has been busy this week for various, not always happy, reasons. As already mentioned the Cycling sections have been a hive of activity and discussion as the real season continues to excite and enthrall. I'm going to give Thread of the Week to one of my favorite stories which is close to ticking off another great season, NRS 2015 by tsmoha. I love this story and it's just an excellent read and has been really picked up the pace this week.

Server Maintenance

Just a quick final note. The site will be undergoing some server maintenance at some point in the next week. This means that for a short time PCM.Daily will be unavailable. Don't panic, it's always to make the site better.
