Some of you may be wondering what has happened to our Weekly News updates - don't worry, they are still a part of this site, and we do actually have a lot of news to bring on to you. Only problem is that I'm in the middle of an important projecct (I'm finally feeling the consequences of being at a university). Last day for handing in the project is on Friday, so at some point just before Christmas day the Weekly News will return.
Until then, well -- enjoy the Christmas days. I don't - I'm at page 60 of my project and haven't bought a single gift yet - but I hope you do ;)
As promised, we are following the Official World Cup closely. It's being organized by Nebula who - as far as I know - is doing this for the first time. The Cup is organized into four phases: a First Round, a Quarter Final, A Semi Final and the Final. The database will, as mentioned earlier, be the Equal DB made by Aab-ern. This DB is very good for online playing, since all teams are equal. No prizes have been announced yet, but tradition says that Cyanide will donate a copy of the next PCM.
The World Cup goes from March until June, and you can subscribe in this thead until mid-February. You can read the full original presentation by clicking "Read More" - it's written by Nebula, the organizer.
Once again, good luck to everyone who decides to participate.
As with (nearly) all the previous games, there's going to be hosted an "official World Championship". They don't really tend to be very well-organized (due to many factors), but it will of course be interesting to see if this new guy, Nebula, is going to manage to do the impossible -make the English and French community communicate :P There's not much information about the event yet, but you can subscribe at the official forum. No dates or prizes have been announced yet, so the only thing we really know is that they are going to use Aab-ern's Ladder Database as the "official" database.
Good luck to everyone who wants to participate. We will of course follow up on this story once we know more.
Thanks everyone for participating in our celebration of our anniversary yesterday! I hope you liked our "big announcement" and our new Christmas initiatives :P We also had a quiz where you could win a cycling jersey, and the results are in, and a winner has been found. Several crew members also tried their luck, but of course, these will not be "included" when we announce the winner.
Click Read More to see the questions, answers - and the winner ;)
As some of you may have noticed, PCM.daily is turning into a Christmas nightmare. A Danish member, LAge, has made a special Christmas banner for us which will hopefully make you all feel very good. .. and already at this point, you're screaming "Nooo!" -- but it gets worse. We've also installed a Christmas countdown, so you can get really stressed out - especially when you notice that there's only 1 day left, and you still haven't bought a gift for your grand mother. You're still not gone? Fine, we have one last thing to scsre you away -- our personal PCM.daily Christmas MP3 Player where weird kids sing classic Christmas carols. Yes, go ahead and listen. It really is as bad as it sounds :)
