Cyanide to release patch at PCM13 release
Pro Cycling Manager 2013

It's almost a tradition at this point, and it's not bound to change this year: The first patch for Pro Cycling Manager 2013 is already in the making and is set to be released on the release day of the game, the 20th of June.

That was revealed in an interview that the Benelux site PCMFocus did with the lead programmer of PCM, Xavier Wiart.

Other than this little piece of information, not much (if any) new was revealed. However, it's worth noting that PCM08-PCM12 shirts are compatible with PCM13 (when converted from tga to png). However, due to the shirts being double in size in the new game, shirts for older games will appear pixelated.

Among other noteworthy details is the fact that the financial system has been revised, making it more simple. Most interesting change is that your budget can change every year, even if your sponsor stays the same.

For more details, you can read the interview (in Dutch) here or go for a surprisingly good translation by Google Translate here.

Does anyone use ArtMoney anymore? Does it even still work with newer versions? Pfft

Finacial system was remade to be more simple? It was as simple as it can be already. Grin
But good news with possibility of different budget for every year with same sponsor.

No comment on patch, as it is a tradition across gaming industry now, to publish unfinished games and fixing them (in better case) later.

#2 It's remade. Staff is payed by the sponsor. You can negotiate more or less budget through your objectives. Make them tougher (1st instead of top 5 in the Tour), you will receive more budget next year. Other way around, less money. There's a limit of 600.000, to keep WT teams from becoming dominant.

I guess people complaining about Day 1 patches have no idea how developing works.

Not bad, they made a patch even before the game is released!

Rin is right, but Avin is also partially right.

On one hand at one point the game goes gold (meaning the final build is made and that's what will be sold) so it's perfectly normal that they continue to develop and make further developments/fixes available with patches. It's a good thing.

On the other hand, there is the tendency to release unfinished games and fix them later with patches. But I don't consider PCM to be one of those.
