Weekly News #31

A Dane is in yellow of Le Tour, the draft is on in PCM.daily's Management Game and I've just bought a 32" LCD-TV. Now, is this just a perfect day (for me)? ;) For T-Mobile fans, today is probably not a really good day, so here's the Weekly News to cheer you up a little ;)

Expected down time
As ironic as it may sound, we're expecting some down time in order to avoid future down time. The site will be moved in 1-5 days to a new server, and that also means the site will be unavailable for 3-4 hours. After that, the site will be back up, but the DL-section will still be down for quite some time. We will have to edit all our links to the new server, and when that's done the DL-section will be available again.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but as I have said before, it's for the sake of the site and its members.

The draft is on
Our greatest project until now is underway. The PCM.daily Management Game, organized by Crommy, has been very popular until now, and now the game starts for real. In this very moment, the draft is on, and it's now we will know who will sign with who for the next season. Who should we look for in Le Tour? And who should we look for in Paris-Roubaix? The draft will tell us.

Follow it live in Crommy's thread by clicking here, and write about your reactions by clicking here.

This week's PCM 2007 downloads
As every week, several files are released during these times. And this week is of course no exception. First of all, we have an unpacked version of the Real Name DB, making it editable with Hannes' Converter and PCM Kicker. It's unpacked by issoisso and is available here. Speaking of unpacking, a very easy-to-use tool has been released. Before you had to use PCM06 to unpack databases, but with this new tool it can be done with one click. Try out the CDB Unpacker / Packer here.

Jaap90 has made a pack consisting of updated race profiles of several national championships, making them more true to the real life versions. The pack consists of new versions of Holland RR & TT, Belgium RR, Germany RR, France RR & TT, Suisse RR, Italy RR & TT and Denmark RR - download it here.

Last, but not least, Arkon has updated his RSM Profiler tool. It's a "useful app which allows you to create PCM1 and PCM2 profiles using a single route or just right clicking into an altimeter to generate profiles automatically, apart from much more interesting features" which can be downloaded here.

New Database Review - PPDB 2007 V1
It's probably our very last database review for PCM 2006, but it's just not any database. It's the PPDB 2007 V1 which have been reviewed by Alex134. Will it match our high standards or will it fail? You can read Alex's review right here. And don't worry - we'll have database reviews for PCM 2007, too. We're actually just waiting for some databases ;)

See our members' photos
With the Tour de France starting in England, a lot of our members have been able to watch the two first Tour de France stages. Luckily for us, they have been kind enough to submit their photos to our new photo gallery category called "Cycling Photos". Jape has also submitted photos from some mountain stages of the 2005 tour, and later on, some of our members will post photos of the upcoming mountain stages of this year's Tour. You can vew them all right here.

Site updates
I'm constantly trying to improve the site, but since there's no reason to change something which's god it's only minor updates at the moment. As Addy correctly noticed in a thread, I've changed the Member's Profile, so it now looks a bit different. It also includes some new functions, for example you can now see the latest forum threads, latest forum posts, latest articles and latest news by the member you're looking at. You can check my profile out here.

This week will probably also have some changes, so keep a close eye on everything and let's see if you find anything different ;)
