Opinion:
This db proves one thing. There is db’s and there is the PPDB, it has everything you would want and it has a lot of it. 177 teams and 479 races is just a little bit of what it has to offer. Without any doubt the best db there is for any PCM game. It may not be to everyone’s liking, but to people who want to play a career with many races and teams to chose between it’s the best one. The only thing I can think of that takes down the grade is the season goals and the experience levels that isn’t set for all teams and riders. Not that weird considering how long time it would have taken to do. It will probably be fixed for version 2, at least the season goals.
Stats:
The most important thing in a db in my opinion and the PPDB has the best I have seen. A few riders has some small stats that can be discussed, but thinking about that all riders in all 177 teams has been looked up to see what they deserve is impressive. The only thing that I think is a bit high is some of the TT stats, but the reason for that has been explained by plakker with the fact that they need that high TT stats to be leaders for there teams in Grand Tours.
Stability and Gameplay:
There has been a few fixes released to fix a couple of problems with different things, but that has now made the db’s stability really good. If you install it correct you should be able to play for several seasons without a single problem. The gameplay is also great, you have so many more riders to chose from and so many races to chose between that it will keep you occupied for a long time.
Pros and cons:
+ The amount of new races, teams and riders + Amazing graphics improvements with stages and jerseys + You should be able to play several seasons without problems + Great stats + Realistic budgets and contracts + Rider photos + Many 2007 profiles for big races
- Experience levels of cyclists - Some unrealistic season goals
Grade:
Graphics 10/10
Stats 10/10
Editing 10/10
Overall 10/10
Alex153 Simply the best db there is at the moment.
The updated V2 has fixed most of the issues I mentioned here.
