History

Peugeot - Bancolombia is a new team, established for the 2025 season. French cycling, while still having many great riders and talents are at an all time low. There are no French Pro Tour team, the biggest French team, Ekoi - Le Creuset, is in PCT. Thus a group decided to create a new team with a goal to first become the best French team in the peloton and then put French cycling back where it belongs. At the top!

To be able to bankroll this the group managed to get one of the biggest companies in France on board. car manufacturer Peugeot. Peugeot however was not willing to put up all the money before the team could prove they deserved it, and as the team would start in the lowest division they demanded at least one other big sponsor. Enter Bancolombia. Banclomobia is the biggest bank in Colombia, another proud cycling nation. Together the sponsors will put up enough money for the first season, and then the team will have to prove they they are not only talk, but action!

To put together this team the group felt they needed someone experienced, and after some hard searching they believe they found their guy. While his palmareas is not the greatest he has managed to reach the Pro Tour before, has lead a team winning both Tour de France and Paris-Roubaix and was willing to come back from retirment. Heine, former manager of the Mapei/T-Mobile/Wiesenhof/Volkswagen team is back!

Good to see another French team in the peloton, though I fear we now are officially rivals, with Renault being one of the minor sponsors of my team. Also I'm baffled that Ekoi supports your team as well, given we'll probably (and hopefully) battle each other in PCT from next season on (and it also will make for an awkward next meeting with their PR managers). But for now the anticipation of how the team will look dominates!

No need to be rivals. We can agree that you can develop riders for me, sounds like a plan?

(I think you have build quite a great squad, and have a good base to fight for promotion with the right moves)

Welcome back Grin

And what a jersey for the return! Looking forward to see how the team shapes up and how you tackle the first season. I'm sure we'll be talking a lot, transfers or otherwise Wink

Welcome back Heine,
I see you're a veteran to the game, if you don't mind me asking: What made you come back after 4 years?

Excited to see how you will manage this new team, perhaps I can learn some tricks from you Wink

Main reason: I missed it

Other than that, when I quit the game I had been less active than I liked for some time and looking back that was mainly because I worked way too much. I felt I had to remove some stuff and hobbies like mangame was easier to remove than others. Now I have a more cozy office job (not that I didn't work in front of the computer before), the kids are older and I got the energy to prioritize what I like most again. That made me come back here, and also made me start playing sports and train again Smile

Join discord, or drop me a PM and I can learn you all my bad habits

Cool jersey. And welcome back apparently Grin Will be tough to battle with an experienced rookie.

Always liked following your team back in the day, great to see you back Smile Will be hard to miss your riders in the peloton with a lovely jersey like that Smile

Glad to see you've managed to quench your MG thirst here. Cool concept and kit for this new incarnation of yours. Obviously your experience should work in your favour, but I believe the CT has become considerably tougher to beat through the years. It's going to be interesting to see how you fare this season. Good luck!

I don't recall us intersecting much while you were still playing the last time. Maybe this time when I may have a decent Colombian rider available Pfft

I'm sure your quite recent experience with MG will stand you in good stead.
Good luck! Smile

Thanks very much, all honor to ezee for the jersey! Looking forward to getting to know you and have some good battles. Both in transfers and races!

Thank you! I hope they will be easy to see and that I will be able to build a team that will be fun to watch

I hope my experience will help me, but the CT budget looks really hard to play with... Thank you very much and great to see you again!

Thank you very much, you might indeed have an interesting rider, but my budget will be very tight :/ No doubt we are going to talk!

Great to have you back Smile Remember some good discussions with you at the end of your "first career", and iirc we even got a deal in your final year (swapping Balloni and Cissé, who got somehow lost in your 2021 roster posted above ^^).
All the best for your comeback, and may your "2nd career" last even longer than the first one Smile
However, I still can't stop wondering how it was possible to relegate in 2021 with Bewley, Ahlstrand, Barguil and Buchmann - none of my 2024 riders even remotely had the quality of one of these ^^

Btw, really nice jersey, kudos to Ezee!

Because of vacation and site problems I never noticed you here. I remember that trade, don't know why he is not here (I copied from my old thread) maybe I moved him on, or loaned him out? Or just forgot him. Hmmm

Looking back at it, it was a strong team. So it most likely comes down to the management. About that I have no comments...

We would like to point out that while we do not plan to sell any riders, every single $$$ will be available. We hope to make some good swaps with those

There's quite some interesting opportunities in this availability list. Let's hope you spend your money on the right kind of riders (i.e. mine and no talents Wink).
