Nice jersey, good luck in 2013!
And btw, it seems like the ukrainian flag and Ratiy does not fit to the rest of the team much.

You are right, I might have to sign some more Ukrainians...

It's really cool to get Mapei re-implemented into the world of cycling. I love that

Haavardsholm really enjoyed racing this year at Venchi, and apparently, Venchi is so happy about his performances that they are interested in signing him permanently. Any comments?

Haavardsholm actually spoke to ember yesterday, as they live in the same region in Norway. And he's thrilled that a Norwegian cycling team promoted to the Pro Tour, and he literally begged ember to sign him in the transfer season. It's rumoured Haavardsholm told ember: "My highest wish for 2013 is riding in Aker - MOT's colours. I'll do whatever you want me to do, be it lead the team, help others on the team or whatever. I want to climb the mountains, battle the cobbles and face the hills for the Norwegian team."
Though, Haavardsholm also stated he was pretty happy with his current Norwegian manager, but he feels this is his only chance to join a Norwegian adventure at the highest level of cycling.
Does Volkswagen - Mapei's team manager know if he will allow Haavardsholm to join the "Norwegian adventure" in 2013? |

Haavardsholm wanted by several Pro Tour teams
The young cyclist Ola Haavardsholm seems to feature in the plans of several Pro Tour teams, among those the Norwegian outfit Aker-MOT. Heine, the manager of Haavardsholms current team have issued a short comment: "Ole is a strong rider, and he got the potential to be a really good puncheur. On the other hand the team is focusing on promoting in the coming season, and thus we migth let Ole go if we manage to get something back that can strenghten us in the short term. Ole himself has told me that he really wishes to try Pro Tour already this year, and we are open to giving him the chanse. Once again, if we feel the offer is worth it."

Team Puma - SAP sympathizes with Team VW youngsters Rick Zabel and Ruben Zepuntke for not promoting and thus missing the chance to gain PT experience in their regular outfit.
German cycling has its best talents in these two riders, and therefore it is important for them to develop.
Our management hasn't finalized their 2013 plans yet, so we can't tell for sure whether we will be involved in any loaning deals at all.
Nevertheless, we want to inform you that if that is the case, we would be very interested to loan out Zabel and/or Zepuntke under acceptable conditions for both sides.

While Zabel and Zepuntke are riders that could do well in Pro Tour and get some experience there we firmly believe that they will get close to the same experience by staying with VolksWagen for the seaons. On the other hand, if Puma-SAP want the help from them we will be open to listening to deals, but they will need to be good for us

We understand that.
Is there any chance the odds are better regarding Austrian mountain talent Georg Preidler? He would get the chance of riding a GT, for sure.

We will listen to deals of course (that is also about Zabel and Zepuntke), but the main plan is to use our talents as domestiques this year
(Considering that riders are not able to go from 3.xx to 4.100 we might aswell use them as domestiques instead of loaning them out and just use up cap space on riders riding for other teams)

Lots of rumours around VolksWagen
There are lots of rumours surrounding the VolksWagen team this year, both on the way in and out. Some of the strongest rumours is about Stefan Denifl and Erik Mohs, who are both rumoured to join VolksWagen. Some of the rumours state that VolksWagen might also Jelle Wallays are wanted from Pokerstars.com
Other riders rumoured to VolksWagen are Daniele Ratto, Danilo Kupfernagel and Yannick Stoltz. All riders that might help a new sprint train (or lead it, Kupfernagel). The team is also rumoured to be interested in adding a new puncheur or two, but we got no names.
On the other hand, rumours state that there are many teams interested in adding Kai Reus and Lucas Schädlich, riders which will leave the team during the transfer season. Another rider that might be wanted by other teams is the experienced winner of Tour de Langkawi, Marco Marzano. Marzano might want to get another season in the Pro Tour and have expressed his dissapointment about VolksWagen not promoting. Other riders that the team might be interested in are Nikolas Maes, Jakob Fiedler, Hassan ben Nasser and Bernhard Eisel
Considering that Mapei has joined in as a major sponsor of the team the team might plan to sign in some new italians. Alberto Loddo seems to not get a renewed contract while the situation around Sabatini is not clear yet.

Vesuvio signal interest in Zabel loan deal
While it is currently unclear whether young Sprinter Rick Zabel will be available to loan or not, Vesuvio-Accumalux have labelled him out as the one rider they would most like to help give experience to, having been impressed by his performances at the recent Tour de l'Avenir.
The team previously loaned another German sprinter Andreas Stauff this past season, where he took 8th place in the Tour of Qatar, and Zabel would be an ideal candidate to form an integral part of Ben Swift's support team for a year. A Grand Tour ride would be quite likely and Marcel Kittel would surely make him feel welcome as a fellow German in the squad.
Vesuvio would be willing to negotiate a deal once the transfers begin in a bid to make the deal beneficial to both teams. Marcel Barth may be available in a reverse loan or permanent deal as while Volkswagen may no longer be interested in time triallists, they may struggle to avoid riding a time trial all season, and Barth would provide an inexpensive option to ride as a domestique in those races and perhaps earn a few ranking points in the TT rides themselves.

Who can go? Who can not?
After the season a lot of teams seem to be interested in riders from VolksWagen-Mapei. Becuse of this the manager have decided to put the riders in different information brackets so that others can know about their availability:
The future faces of the team, not for sale at all
Alexandar Flügel
Rick Zabel
Ruben Zepuntke
Georg Preidler
Can be sold, but will require a really good offer
Vadim Ratiy
Kevin Predatsch
Marco Marzano
Daniel Schorn
Gregory Brenes
Winner Anacona
Allowed to let go for the right offer, but the team might keep them
Kai Reus
Lasse Bøchman
Niki Østergaard
Ole Haavardsholm
Christian Müller
Lucas Schädlich
Will most likely be released
Robert Förster
Alberto Loddo
Fabio Sabatini
Christian Pfannberger
Benjamin Noval
Jussi Veikkanen
