While some of the best sprinters in the world are in France to win the green jersey, some of the others went in Philadelphia for the classic Philadelphia International Championship. A hard and long flattish classic, in the PTHC division for the third year in a row.
Despite the length and the bumps on the road, the third last editions went to sprinters. So we can believe it’ll be the same this season!

Former double winner Philippe Gilbert won’t come back for a triple, but some riders are here to try and join him as double winners: Demare, in his new colours after he won the race with Puma 8 years ago, has all the skillset to have a great result here in the US. Kragh Andersen is one of the many top sprinters so he’ll have to be a in the top of his game to win.
And then there are those who have not so good results last seasons: Ewan (13th last season, 3rd in 2021) or Gaviria (5th last season).
Dainese is another of the top dogs, with a nice speed burst. All in all, there a quite some PCT sprinters ready to steal points to the PT teams.

Late attacks are always possible on such a flat and demanding stage for the domestique, so here are the flat beasts that might consider surviging a charging peloton! Katrasnik is the ultimate favorite if it comes to this, mostly because he has no top sprinter to ride for as a domestique.

Could do with a strong Kemboi result here to create a bit more of a gap to the relegation zone. Hoping the profile at the top there is an error and there aren't mystery cobbles awaiting though  |

Thanks for the preview, Imladrik. Top 10 is the minimum for Manninen, top 5 is the hope. Of course Quispe is free to surprise us and win this race with a late attack

Typical Manninen result in classics this season. Not the worst, but far from special. And again one place below Vesely Nice to see Ruiz score some points, as well as that other magical Peruvian known by the name of Alain Quispe.

Terrific result for us here! Not only with AKA attentive to make the splits and beat some great sprinters for 4th place, but Resell's result is huge. Him making the split and taking an unlikely minor placing in 14th is the kind of luck we need to stay up, especially after a couple of difficult months.

Congrats to Zalgiris, finally luck was on their side! Well done to Kemboi as well (still one of my favourite riders in the peloton), and Aniolkowski makes this a pretty awesome day for PCT with two on the podium.
On the other hand, obviously sucks to see some of the top sprinters completely failing again. Sprints really aren't fun to watch, even less so than last year, but at least everyone seems to get their share of luck from time to time ^^
