Copenhagen-Malmo TTT
--
Preview
It's a team time trial! Some teams spend entire offseasons tinkering to optimize their squads for these events, for others it's just a complete waste of race days. But all PT teams are here, as are two PCT wild card teams, and within their means, they're all trying to make the most of it.
Nothing special to see here, same course as in years past. 58 kilometers are enough to make weak teams suffer and strong teams distinguish themselves.
Defending champion EA Vesuvio is high up the list again with strong peak and depth talent. They're the favorites alongside Polar. Tinkoff - La Datcha, who won here in 2016 and most recently 2019, as well as Aker - MOT and Duo are the most likely remaining podium contenders, though 2020 champs Grieg Maersk and UBS aren't far off either.
Further down the line, there are a few teams that are very top heavy and might be able to outperform their ranking here if their leaders carry the weight to compensate for lacking depth. These include Los Pollos Hermanos, cycleYorkshire, ELCO - ABEA and Moser - Sygic.
Towards the bottom of the list are teams that really don't have any ambitions at all, with reigning PT champs Isostar punting entirely on this race, sending only 6 riders compared to everyone else with 8.

The AI has more faith in the control team than in us On a good day a top-10 might be possible, but with our current time trial form we're looking at a top-20 rather than a top-10. It will be interesting to see which of the favourites will take the win home. Thanks for the preview!

Excited for this one! Top 4 must be the goal, and I must admit I'll be slightly disappointed if we can't do that. Though, it's obviously very, very close looking at the teams pre-race. Vesuvio should be favourites, though, but behind them, there are several teams fighting for the podium spots. |

The PCT battle against Popo4Ever is for pride only. Hope to kick some PT butts!

Hoping for a podium, but hard to predict how it will go. Will probably be tight!

First goal od season. It may end up either big result or disaster. Fingers crossed for good daily form of my key riders!

No high expectations at all. A top10 would already be a surprisingly good result, top15 as well probably.
Just here for some experience and small points. |

Just shows how much our TTT team has regressed in the last 2 seasons really. Before we would have been top 5 as a lock, now we are expecting a top 10. It will mostly depend on daily form but I still hope for a good result here!

So many quality TTT setups this season. Last year I would have been 6-7th in the pre race favorites list. This season 13th...
I kinda had the hope we would be able to sneak away a top 10, but honestly that doesn't seem very realistic. At the very least this should stop the bleeding after 4 racedays accumulating exactly 0 points.

Looking forward to this one. A top5 would be a very welcome change to our recent run of results.

5th is a solid result. Always hope for better of course, and it wasn't much between the first nine teams, but I'll happily take 5th place. Congrats to SN on the win!

Time trialing really isn't our thing so far this year
Loved the way of reporting with the three groups to make it very clear to read. Thanks for the great report

Top 10! But more importantly we beat Popo4Ever, so we're the best PCT TTT team
Thanks for the report cunego and congrats SN!

Don't know why, but they have a strong tendency to perform below their TT stats lately. Not a good result for their relegation fight unfortunately...
Great win for Vesuvio though, defending the established PT teams' honour - 2nd to 4th are all promoting teams, and cycleYorkshire almost cracked the Top5 as well. Good job by my 2021 rivals
Thanks for the report, interesting style that made following the action pretty easy indeed

Very close at the top! We got close to the podium, but not quite there, unfortunately.
Thank you for a very nice report. That was easy to follow, and also made for several highlights during the report, as each group was easier to follow than all teams at once.
Congratulations, SN! |

We came with an ambition of breaking into the top 10, and barely missed out on that. But we still punched a bit above our weight which is solid.
Also a very interesting pointscombination for us, with the 4 weakest + the strongest scoring points. If I recall correctly only the top 5 riders get points, which means:
Vlatos
Agrotis
Nsengimana
Delco
Kelly
I guess we could have scored slightly better had we dropped 1-2 riders towards the end, but atleast things look harmonical.
Congrats on the win SN. Also a big congrats to Gustav for punching above weight for a very nice 3rd place here. Could be key to the survival campaign!

More of this please.
I feel relieving seeing we keep being competitive in this field and even punching slightly above our weight.
Congrats to SN, and thanks for the lively report, cunego!
