Grand Prix Cyclistes Preview
The last PT stage race of the year takes place in Canada, in the famous cities of Quebec and Montreal. It's a two day affair for the punchers and the best of the best from the PT have turned up to try their luck here. The first stage ends in an uphill but the second ends in a flat after overcoming the last of the hills a few kilometers before the finish.
The race has moved to the PT this season, but last year's winner is back to try to repeat his success. That winner being Waeytens, whose team promoted along with the race and allows him to be back to defend his crown.

De Bie has had a much improved season this time, and starts off as top favourite for this race. His team have been in relegation trouble all season and he would be hoping to get them out of there with a good performace.
Sagan and Lutsenko are next up in the favourites' list and while they are slightly weaker on the hills, their support stats more than make up for it and make them worthy contenders for the win.
Lopez is the best climber among the top favourites and will be hoping the hills prove to be too hard for the others, especially on Stage 2.
Wildcard Bobridge, no stranger to the PT peloton himself, is also among the podium contenders for this race. His team looked to have secured their PCT survival already, so he can enjoy this outing with no pressure at all. Mohoric is the other strong puncher in podium contention, with his only slightly weaker backups not likely to hinder him too much in a race like this.
The duo of Demare and Yates are cut from a slightly different cloth than the others. They will be hoping to keep their deficit to a minimum on Stage 1 and use their sprint prowess on Stage 2 to claim important seconds.

A lot of similar punchers make up the outsiders list including defending champion Waeytens. Koretzky has had a good season so far as well, and will be hoping to punch above his weight and do better than his outsider tag. Benoot and Gidich are the better climbers in this bunch while Ulissi is the best sprinter.

The race looks easy enough for me to point towards Yates and Demare as the major favorites here.
I hope Koretzky can use his combination of decent hill, OK sprint and strong acceleration to fight for a top 5 here. But with only 2 stages a lot depends on daily form and positioning.

Yet another chance for the team. At least the startlists in the late races are promising for me. Let`s hope, it`s going a bit better here. To stay up in PT basically a win and 2 strong stage performances are needed in preperation of Lombardia as final chance. |

Should be a fun one. A lot riding on this race. Hoping for nice, boring hilly bunch sprints each day with Yates using Demare as his launching pad.

Another big opportunity for Lopez here. Was supposed to be a big part of a late title push but with that not possible, I kinda just hope to see him in an attacking mood for some fun racing.

Sad home favourite Hugo Houle (and his compatriot in the leadout) doesn't make the preview but hope he can do something if there is a reduced bunch on at least the Montreal stage!

Absolutely brilliant start to the race. Both in terms of creating a very entertaining battle at the bottom with Aegon and Zwift, but also for ourselves with Koretzky securing a new individual record high scoring season, unless he ends the race outside the top 20 and drops below 5th in the pointscores.
Very nice with some gaps aswell to make it difficult to move far back unless Koretzky is dropped in the final stage, or some crazy gaps appear. Both Aidan and Kastrantas did well to work their way into minor points if they can keep things together in the final stage.
So far our goal of season Koretzky in top 5 is looking good. The next could move him out of it again, but I would be surprised to see him drop out of the top 10.

De Bie making our season finale very interesting here.
Pretty perfect stage, time gaps, gapping the "hilly sprinters" by a tiny bit, taking the stage win and GC lead against the other top puncheurs and for whatever reason Denz being up there to gain a bit of time for a top10 GC as well for now.
Hopefully stage 2 can go on like this. |

19th is a bit lower than I hoped for Moscon, but surely in the expected range.
Lienhard probably got his most valuable result of the season - of course in a race where it doesn't count 
Congrats to roturn, De Bie would definitely not be the main guy to blame if you still relegate!

Really hurts to see De Bie having not his best day here.
Losing the GC and no real stage points is unfortunate in our situation.
2nd in GC though is still great nevertheless with Yates missing out on bigger points, it`s probably not ideal for them neither.

Not a best result, but nor catastrophic, our hilly season was so far with exceptional or very mediocre results

Could have definitely been better but I think Yates did the best he could given his skill set. Some aggressive racing by his rivals to distance themselves from him and Demare just managed to pay off.

Sometimes it's really hard to accept that PCM is just... random in quite some domains. We had 3 guys doing well yesterday, and today everyone's outside the Top 100, with lvl1 Schmid being our "highest" finisher
It's really such completely unrealistic and plain stupid behavior that makes me want to stop it all. Accepting that a 79 puncheur isn't enough for a PT Top20 finish is one thing - that can happen. But accepting those random no-shows where you can do absolutely nothing as a manager (and which never seem to happen to some teams for whatever reason) - no, thanks.
Congrats to the winners, though - especially big races for Aegon and Zwift, as shown in the updated rankings.
