Now I understand why it's tough to find members for the DB team when the Database is not recognized in this poll. Makes me feel like if so many people enjoy the Fantasy Betting especially there should be some that want to take it up so that it actually consistently takes place next year

Obviously the MG for me
You're 100% right, it is pretty sad that the DB team did not get nominated for best site initiative when (maybe along with MG) it's clearly the site initiative with the most intensive workload and the most substantial product.
Unfortunately, I think there are two reasons:
1.) Maybe there's just some confusion or ambiguity about what this award is for. The Daily DB team clearly applies as a site initiative, but perhaps people see another category for best DB and just assume it should be kept separate. We could explain that more clearly in the rules going forward.
2.) I think a lot of people who are still active here are legacy members who don't regularly play PCM anymore. I know I haven't played any since 18, and I haven't really dove in since 15. At this point, there are probably more active MG managers who don't regularly play PCM, especially the newest edition, than active non-MG users who DO play the newest PCM. It's a sad state about our forum, and it means fewer people on the forum really see the work that goes into the Daily EP and DB's than they used to. But I don't think that's a reflection of how much work we all know the Daily DB team members do for that DB and this site as a whole.
Side note, I've been advocating for more fantasy bets for a long time. That would be great. It's always disappointing to have a few weeks of bets a year and then have it fall off a cliff.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Defo this. I haven't played PCM for years due to the general commitments of being an adult with kids and my laptop probably no longer being up to the spec of playing the game. It can take a lot of hours to get through a full season. I just pop in from time to time, but more for the cycling aspect rather than the game. I have no idea what is going on with any databases or work being carried out on the forum in connection to the game.
I definitely plan/hope to be able to play the game again in the future once I'm able to get myself a few free hours in the evenings. But for now I will just have to live out my PCM dreams via the stories section

Again, I agree. I always say I'll have a go at the fantasy betting each year, but then the bets become very unregular or posted at the last minute so they get missed and you kind of lose interest or can't be bothered to keep logging on when chances are there are no new bets.
I'll give it another go this year, assuming it's still happening.
