Wish you all the best with your new sponsor! Will be interesting to see what you did during renewals - if rebrand means hard reset this time, or if you'll still continue with some of your old riders (I guess I'm allowed to say "old" ).

We shall see
The goal is to get back in the upper echelon, so the ambition to make improvements are there

First racing days revealed The MGUCI has finally published the full calendar for the 2021 season. The profiles of Grand Tour races along with the Tour of America and the races within the PTHC and HC categories were revealed in separate presentation (also, the remainder of the PT calendar was known already), but now all races in all categories have been revealed and also the dates are now known. In this new re-shuffling of the calendar it was perhaps shocking to see 17 (!) races being axed and only two new one-day races were added.
For the teams in the CT division they already have 58 guaranteed race days and unlike the PCT and PT team who have to choose between different bands of races (HC and PTHC for PCT and PTHC for PT), the C2HC is a single calendar for all teams (i.e. there're no bands for it which has been this wasy since 2017). Thus, the CT teams know their guaranteed races before the PCT division.
Thus, BWT Hyundai N Cycling has learned their initial race calendar (subject to additions of races from othe categories) for the 2021 season. The first stop will be a long travel to New Zealand for the Gisborne GP in early January. A month later it's the cobbled classic in Belgium - the Gent - Wevelgem, followed by the Volta a Catalunya (which was formerly in the C1 calendar) in mid-February. In early march the CT peloton will return to Belgium for the Geraardsbergen-Bosberg with the next set of C2HC events being in late April with the Lincoln GP in the UK and the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Only Tour du Faso is scheduled from the C2HC in May.
In June the peoloton will move to Canada for the Tour of Vancouver with the C2HC calendar stying in North America, but this time in Mexico for the Monterrey TTT. Early July will be packed with C2HC races with the all-new Uppsala Classic, followed up by a 4-day trip to the Persian Gulf and the Tour of the Middle East. Tour de Langkawi, one of the C2HC's regulars, will return once again - this time with an August dates. Lillestrom GP is the only C2HC even scheduled for September, while October will be again with the familiar races - the simultaneously held Herald Sun Tour and Course de Solidarnosc, while the season will traditionally end with the Zuri Metzgete.
When asked on what approach the team will take given the plethora of races and profile, CEO ivaneurope replied with..."Just wait and see"
Update: GP Izola, also part of the C2HC calendar will be held on 12 April

The 2021 MGUCI season is right around the corner and the teams have already made their choices on who should keep in their 2021 rosters. The BWT Hyundai N Cycling team made their decisions in the renewals - let's see how the team fared:
23 riders have represented the team last season. 4 of them were loaned in riders (Jakub Otruba, Remy Rochas, Lennard Kämna and Sergio Huguita). Adding the return of Max Losch (loaned out to Aker-MOT to be maxxed out) the team now had 20 riders with a total payroll of 2.16M. Considering the lower payroll budget for teams in the CT division as well as the average age of the roster before the process of 31.1, it was expected that the team would make significant cuts to their roster:
Rider | Old wage | New wage | Diff. | Sebastian Lander | 150k | 130k | 20k | Momchil Robov | 50k | 80k | -30k | Max Losch | 50k | 80k | -30k | Ramunas Navardauskas | 80k | 65k | 15k | Tom Thill | 50k | 50k | 0k | Valentin Stoenchev | 50k | 50k | 0k | Krzysztof Marchewka | 50k | 50k | 0k |
As seen by the table, the team only retained 7 riders out of their 20-team roster before the renewals. Robov and Losch got pay raises of 30k, Lander and Navardauskas took pay cuts of 20k and 15k respectively. This means that across these 7 riders the payroll has increased by 25k. But the most important thing is that the team cut 13 riders. One of the riders who got cut was Georg Preidler - the team asked him to take a huge pay cut (considering his season didn't reflect the 600k wage), but after the team's initial offer got rejected, both sides took to the conclusion that an agreement would be very difficult and mutually parted ways, making the Austrian a free agent. Leopold Konig and Alexander Kristoff were two other significant releases, along with Petar Panayotov. Pana took a substatial pay cut las time, but the team decided to move on and released their last vestages of the 2017 VMP - Argon 18 roster. Now, the longest standing riders in the roster are Marchewka and Stoenchev, who both joined in 2018. The two TT specialists are also the only riders on the team to have an overall win in a race (that being the inaugural Vilnius GP in 2018) as Herson Canelon (GC winner of the 2019 Course de Solidarnosc) was also released. Other releasese include Martin Grashev, Jempy Drucker, Andreas Stauff, Damion Drapac, Lorents Ola Aasvold, Bjorn Thurau, Martin Lavric and Markus Wildauer.

Looks like you want to shrink your already small roster even more
The nationalities aren't perfect for me, so not sure we'll talk - but who knows? Definitely some interesting riders "pretty available"

Always loved Lander (and tried to get him multiple times throughout the years), though I'm not sure if he fits perfectly in my team plans right now. We'll have to see.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

We're pleased to announce the signing of American rider William Barta as a free agent. The former Azteca-NBCSN rider, who last year was spent on loan at Festina - OAKA as a part of maxxing out deal, Barta found himself without a ride after his original team disbanded at the end of the 2020 season. BWT Hyundai N Cycling have managed to sign him to € 100,000.

Yeah, really well done! Pretty much nothing he can't do, which is especially valuable on a rather small CT roster!

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Ramunas Navardauskas - the Lithuanian TT champion will join the Baltic-centric PT team Evonik - ELKO. As part of the deal we'll get the Belarusian climber Andrei Sakalou, becomming the first rider from Belarus to ride for the team.
We've also made a loan deal with Zwift Pro Cycling to take Louis Visser from South Africa on loan for the season. As part of the agreement (which includes 1->3 level up) our team will cover half of his 50k wage for the duration of the loan.
