2021 Off Season Timeline Plannings

There will be an official time line with exact dates, mainly for the transfer season as usual.
But to give you a small update, what about dates I plan as anything else would really become difficult for me and would move the game back at least 3-4 weeks.
I hope to give you access to the race profiles in the next few days, so that you can all look over it this weekend.
At the same time, the goals will start and also the band selection is supposed to start at the weekend or at one point next week! Remember that in especially PTHC had a start deadline!
The goals and band selection than have an end deadline just before the transfer season starts.
This MUST be one of the following dates:
- ideally already Friday the 3rd of September
- at latest Friday the 10th
- it theoretically can happen on another day as well in between
IF the later date is not possible due to late responses on renewals/goals/bands etc., it has to be postponed until the very end of September or even start of October, which is something I really don`t want to happen. In especially as this would still not be ideal for me to handle neither. |

How about a “carrot” for being fast? Access to the DB with new riders when you have done the tasks?

Well I am obviously all for a strict deadline on 3rd, if you miss it, you get penalised and we move on. Cant keep waiting for one or two dudes every year for weeks

Also very much in favour of strict deadlines, we need to move the game forward. Would love the 3rd and would really dislike transfers moving into October again.

There will be strict deadlines soon.
But can't do them now when it's not yet 100% sure if we are able to make it until the 3rd ourselves.
Once we get the files done, the deadlines are set.
Regarding early access, hard to do as once the files are ready they are posted. |

I'm also in favour of strict deadlines - it's infuriating when you were one of the first people to do your tasks, but someone else is causing long delays that disrupt the organizational flow.

Well early access could just be a link sent out in a reply PM to renewals, goals, whatever.
I also vote for strict deadlines, but also pre-determined consequences need to follow. 100K budget pr. day the deadline is broken. Having the admins sack a top 5 rider from the team or whatever.

For missing goals it's pretty simply I'd say. You miss deadline - you lose an achieved goal from previous year and your goal points for this year are capped at 14. Allows admins to calculate budgets instantly and punishes the manager. For renewals you could force accept the outrageous initial demands, etc.

Definitely in favor of strict deadlines as well. The weekend starting with the 3rd definitely doesn't suit me that well, but well, there are always solutions to that.
Also in favor of consequences for missed deadlines - but they have to be pre-defined, as SotD says. And I'd say they should hurt, but still not so much that a manager would disband right away - at least not for the first infringement. No mercy for recidivists, though (imho).

Always in favor of strict deadline with some mild penalties that fit. As Fabianski says, something damaging but not extreme enough to destroy a team or make them wanna quit.
For example, maybe if you don't do your goals, you just default on them. You get no budget bonuses this year, and your budget for the next year is considered as if you took the minimum in goal selection, and then failed all your goals (something I'm quite familiar with). Or for band selection, maybe they just get whatever needs to be filled. They can request bans after the deadline, but they receive lowest priority.
Weekend of the 3rd is good for me as it's Labor Day in the US. Starting that Tuesday I'll be very busy, but as always I'll make it work, whatever I have to do. MG is life.

Also for stricter deadlines, it always seems to be the same few teams that hold things up with the exception of a few managers that just happen to be busy around that time.

Im for a bit more strict rules regarding deadlines. The ammount of time the people behind the scenes spends on this game, the least we all can do is keep the deadlines.
