Vuelta a España 2021
df_Trek
just realized there's still no thread for this, saying that I'm disappointed to see Alpecin Fenix without Merlier

Ollfardh
They're really pushing for Philipsen. Merlier rode Giro + Tour already and will probably target the flat classics instead.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

FreitasPCM
Alpecin won every second stage of each Grand Tour this year.

quadsas
no Remco, who cares?

Rooting for Dombro obviously, but Taaramae has had had a hint of a career resurgence this year. Nice to see.

Taaramae Grin

What a win and GC lead. Is this the first time he's ever led a GC in a Grand Tour? Remembered him when he seemed like the next big thing in Cofidis 13 years ago.

Huge win for Taaramae. Kudos to him just for sticking it out this long in his career and fighting to get back to this level.

Man-Game legends battling it out in real life. Well, Dombrowski is not legend status but you get the point Pfft

Taaramäe vs Dombrowski for a GT stage win, this thread is in the wrong subforum! Pfft

Rein taking the leader's jersey from a breakaway, ember getting baaad flashbacks from when things were the other way around...

I remember years ago when Taaramae cracked on that Xorret del Cati monstrous climb, riding for Cofidis. How time has passed now, not only was he able to redeem himself in 2011, but also has re-redeemed from a career that seemed to have fallen into shambles to a turning point moment. Happy for Rein, still with a decent level to race here. Smile

Can his UCI points here be counted for my Aker team? Grin

Nice to see him take the win, and also very impressive. His form must be on the rise, as his Czech Tour was good, but not this great.

Surprising to see such a weak Jumbo team on the first medium mountain stage. Roglic being isolated from the moment Kuss dropped must be alarming for them, as it will take a sensational defence to win red if Movistar, Ineos and Bahrain all have a couple of cards to play in the second and third week.

nice to see Aru right behind best riders Smile

Great to see Jakobsen take the victory! Good to see he's back and it seems like he's (almost) on his old level before the crash.

That Taaramäe crash... hope he's fine. Didn't seem to bad but who knows

Jakobsen!!! Man, I don't know if anyone can not like it!

Ollfardh
I'm really happy he gets a big win before Groenewegen does.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That final acceleration, though. Jakobsen has still got it, one year later and he’s once again among the fastest of the peloton. So happy for him. Smile

Cort won

baseballlover312
Amazing victory by Cort. Easily could have sat up when then were only like 5 seconds ahead near the red kite. He needed every ounce of fight in his bones to hold on. That's the type of breakaway win I love to see.
