National Championships 2019 Discussion

The format from last two year worked out very well and so it comes back for the 2019 season as well.

In case you don't remember, from last year's thread:

All teams will have 8 riders. Gaps are filled by 'Fake Riders', with 55s in all stats.

There are 24 teams in all races, meaning that there will be teams of solely fake riders in almost all races.


Very few and only the bigger Nations with lots of riders were needed to be cut by rider strength in case of too many riders/teams. So in case a team only had a single rider not made for the terrain, chance was high to lose the NC spot in that case.

If a team has more than 8 riders from one Nation, then the IDs were sorted from low to high and a cut was made after the 8th rider. The later riders then go into a second team or in extreme cases even into third teams, so that all can participate.

IIRC you both didn't submit votes for the NC routes which means your riders are ineligible to participate in the NCs

Flat french and hilly German NCs could mean decent opportunities for Demare and Herklotz, everywhere else we're long shots at best. Dunne in Ireland might follow up on his amazing Worlds B race ride.

Well, we've already won our first unexpected NC thanks to Yechezkel. Unfortunately since he'll be level 4 next year it is doubtful he will actually ride in it for us, but at least we get the clout. Pfft

Liking the routes picked for this season. They suit many of my riders well. Hopefully the Desigual boys will have a handful of custom NC jerseys for next season.

No free jersey for us, either. Guillén should have good odds for the win in Costa Rica, but we don't have any favorites otherwise. With UBS unfortunately having missed out on the selection, it might be a 50/50 race in Switzerland between Saggiorato and Frankiny - would be amazing to have "our" NC jersey next year!

By the way - have the actual profiles been published anywhere?
