World Championships in danger of being cancelled.

UCI have announced they will not be held in Switzerland and are looking for an alternative venue for the same dates and with a similar profile.

Updates to follow I am sure.

Same dates and similar profile will make it kinda hard to find a replacement.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I could imagine it just going back to the French Alps for such a race, would make it easier for riders going to Le Tour to ride it.

Apparently Italy is the favourite to step in. I guess it's fairly close to the French and Italian border, so they will look for somewhere just outside Switzerland.

I bet Mads Pederson is hoping for a complete cancellation

Great news. Hopefully there are conditions to go ahead there. Everyone remembers what happened last time a WC took place in Tuscany. Cool

Adam Yates signs for Ineos. Simon remains at Mitchelton.

Simon officially wins. Got a GT, big new contract as absolute leader. Adam sulks off to Ineos to pace up the penultimate climb the rest of his career.

2014 Adam Yates told Cyclingweekly, "If I went to Sky then I’d end up working on the front like a slave, and I’m not a big fan of that. Get use to it Adam

But this is not the 2014 Sky. If they want the next British Grand Tour winner they'd definitely use him for that and not the train. Or maybe even the Next British TdF winner if Bernal decided he wants a Giro in his palmares as well.

If not, it's nothing more than a money move. Why work for others then when you can work for your twin brother?

Idk, I'd feel it's probably worse ego wise to work for your twin brother. They came up together as equals and Simon had proven the better leader. it might be more humiliating to be relegated to a domestique role for him.

But I think after Froome and Thomas Sky are probably done caring about having the next British GT winner. They already have younger, better guys than Adam. I can't imagine them sacrificing chances at victory just because he's British when they've already produced 6 British TDF wins in the past decade.

I think he's more likely to be their Giro/Vuelta GC leader than Tour Domestique. Froome is gone, Thomas is 34. They only really have Bernal and Carapaz as GT GC contenders, unless they hope the likes of Sivakov and TGH are going to step up in the next 12 months.

Well it was bound to happen eventually, they are by far the biggest (natural) talents that Britain has brought forward in cycling, like ever. I remember that he was quite good in one TdF so he has the potential to do good there again. Luckily is far more exciting brother Simon will stay with MS, which will mean some more action packed raids and smack talk in the future. Lucky us.

Sivakov is not too far to lead in a GT imo...probably their 2nd/3rd best choice already now

The CCC team is on the verge of collapse as no sponsor has been found yet and they've recently announced that riders (even those under contract for 2021 and beyond) are free to negotiate with any team.

The same could've been said for Mitchelton - Scott as the aftermath of the kiboshed "deal" with Manuela Fundacion had the team lost Edoardo Affini, Daryl Impey, Jack Haig and now Adam Yates, but today they've signed Tanel Kangert.

So according to the UCI it's illegal to remove supplies from a severely injured rider's back pockets before he's placed on a stretcher? I think it's very considerate and human what Bramati did.

Only reason they're investigating Quick-Step is because Lefevre has always been very vocal in his criticism of the UCI.

It's illegal to send certain data during a race between rider + car, and Bramati's comments certainly give an impression there was some data being transmitted. If this is power data, heart rate data, that is not allowed to be shared in real time during the race. So the polite guess is he was removing some sort of HR monitor/data relay device.
The ugly guess is removing doping material. And given the way QS try to deny anything and fire back about CADF being involved... if it was just data transfer they would likely stay quiet and settle it with a fine. That and more chance for Lefevre to argue with the UCI.

I'd be shocked if it was some doping materials, because what team is dumb enough to do that in such a way mid-race? Best idea is to spike your own energy gels/bars for that.
Probably is nothing, but it should be investigated properly to establish if something was removed, and if so what. Any removeal of items should be handled my the medical professionals and not a DS.
