The main racing of the current 2019 season has now ended, with only Worlds and Nationals remaining. Time then to open applications for the new season.
What is the Management Game? Well, take a look at the FAQ.
https://www.pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthr...d_id=32087
In short, during the off-season you will decide on a sponsor/nationality for your team, create team goals, select your race calendar - and most importantly, buy riders for your team in the frenzied fun that is the transfer season. Then it is a case of deciding the race schedule for each rider in your team, and then following the season as it unfolds - commenting in race discussion threads, keeping up to date a Team HQ thread, and maybe even helping with the Race Reporting itself! I can't stress enough how important it is to be active in the race discussion threads. Something a number of new managers failed to do this season.
We are looking for new members to join, starting in the Continental division, who can be an active part of the game throughout the season. There's no fixed number of new managers that we will take, there are a couple of questions for you to answer - in order to help us decide who to pick:
1. What can you contribute towards the Management Game, in terms of activity and other aspects?
2. If selected, how do you intend to manage your team?
Please have a good think about these questions before applying, and then PM your answers to me. After sending your PM, reply to this thread to say that you have applied.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck! |

Cool to see these new applications, hoping for some more to come! It definitely was fun to join this game, and I really don't regret it!
By the way, my application confirmation was pretty much my first post in the forum, too, after a year of silent reading

Hey, I know I haven't been selected yet, but I would like to ask some questions if it is ok.
Managers also choose specific training programs for riders, based on how they want them to develop, eg. climber program, sprinter program, cobbles program, etc. Click here to download the stat gains form. You'll see the different program names, as well as the gains per XP level change.
So if I am manager A and buy a rider from Manager B (or just a rider that has been used before but now sacked), and Manager B has chosen that he is a climber 1 type, could I know this (without trying to figure it out and looking at stat differences in different databases), and/or could I change this? Or am I wrong assuming that managers can choose the type their rider is concerning the stat gains, and this only counts for specific training programmes they buy with their budget? I hope I made myself clear enough. |

There are no rider types per say in MG. Stat gains are named using rider types like Sprinter, Hills, TT, Climber v1, Stage race etc. to make it easier to know which stats will be increased.
When a rider increases in level you choose which of these stats he will gain that are defined in the stat gains file.

Feel free to ask; I did this a lot before my first season, too
Riders don't have "types", actually. For every development step (when the XP level goes up), you can choose which training program to apply to the rider's stats. This will be done before renewals, as far as I know, i.e. when buying a rider, you already know his new stats.
Then, there's the "actual" training, which applies only to maxed riders younger than 30 iirc. There, you have to pay (a lot of money), to upgrade a stat of your choice.
If you want to know which rider gets which stat gains, you'd indeed have to compare the current DB with the post-renewals one. But you don't actually need to know this; looking at the post-renewals DB should be enough for you.
