 SAA Tour d'Afrique
Our final HC stage race of the season is one which will potentially have huge implications at both ends of the table. In the relegation battle  Lo Cicero,  Vanderbiest,  Ciolek,  Kip and  Appollonio all know that their teams need them to be at their best, while at the other end of the table  Ahlstrand,  Guarnieri,  Boeckmans and  Zabel all have key roles to play in deciding the promotion fight.
But in their midst are a number of other top sprinters, who will still want to fight for the win here even if their teams are mired in the midfield - the likes of  Degenkolb,  Avelino and  Cavendish the most notable. The stage is set for an enthralling four days!

Third and fourth is a decent enough result, but this still feels like a missed opportunity. Guarnieri really should have been at Kreder's wheel there.

Swift after winning here 3 consecutive times while barely getting more than 1 stage win each year (iirc) not being at the start, is a pity to see.
Same goes for my team as the band didn`t suit or didn`t work for me, not sure anymore.
Time for Degenkolb to go for it then. |
