Lillestrom GP
Hallo from Norway and the Lillestrom GP. This one-day event is a relatively young race in the Man-Game calendar counting only two previous editions in its palmares. Guillaume Van Keirsbulck was the victor of the inaugural event and should put his experience to good use this year as well. Roger Kluge, last years winner is also present and is obviously another strong candidate!
This classic consists of a loop circuit around Lillestrom with a total distance of 207km. The decisive factor of the race will have to be considered the cobbled sector which appears in the profile after a short uphill section.
Now that we know the parcours, let's have a look at the favourites:
| COB | HIL | FLA | STA | SPR | ACC | Kasperkiewicz | 79 | 73 | 74 | 73 | 59 | 66 | Van Keirsbulck | 78 | 71 | 72 | 75 | 70 | 68 | Richardson | 78 | 67 | 71 | 68 | 60 | 61 | Maes | 78 | 66 | 79 | 78 | 61 | 66 | Taubel | 78 | 65 | 73 | 69 | 61 | 64 | Orue | 78 | 64 | 69 | 77 | 53 | 58 | Bolivar | 77 | 66 | 73 | 74 | 64 | 69 | Kosic | 77 | 66 | 72 | 74 | 59 | 64 | Corwin | 77 | 66 | 69 | 66 | 55 | 56 | Jacobs | 77 | 63 | 72 | 75 | 64 | 62 | Manamalage | 77 | 59 | 81 | 71 | 57 | 56 | Sweeck | 76 | 68 | 73 | 71 | 70 | 71 | Kluge | 76 | 67 | 77 | 75 | 76 | 73 | Nepomnyachsniy | 76 | 64 | 74 | 74 | 78 | 76 | Domene | 76 | 57 | 73 | 73 | 74 | 75 | Young | 75 | 69 | 74 | 74 | 78 | 77 |
One could argue Kasperkiewicz is the no.1 favourite here, but looking at Van Keirsbulck it becomes apparent he is just as robust, but a much better sprinter, which could be a decisive advantage.
Azteca has a nice core of cobbles specialists but none of them have any kick in them. They'll likely need to go for victory from afar.
Tryg Insurance brings Maes, but has absolutely no support to give him. Manamalage is in the same situation and shouldn't actually be considered a proper favourite.
OMV - Petrom has an interesting strategy with Taubel and Young. The first, a more powerful man on the cobbles, but the later is more complete and is the sort of rider you'd want to have in the end of a race like this. Similarly, Iberia brings a duo of leaders for these two scenarios, in Kosic and Domene.
ISA has Bolivar leading a team with not much prowess in the cobbles, but with very complete riders.
GCN brings a competent team lead by Jacobs, with very reasonable support. A top10 could be in the cards, but they'll need to be aggressive since they lack a strong COB+SPR rider.
Volvo will use this race to give leading duties to some of Stallaert's lieutenants, with Sweeck leading the Swedish.
At the bottom of the table we find last year's winner Kluge and Nepomnyachsniy (as well as the aforementioned Domene and Young). All of these could assume a role of main favourites should the race provide a sizeable group at the end of the event.
Well, if you want to find out who wins, tune in tomorrow and join us for the 3rd edition of the Lillestrom GP!

More chances now for my cobbles team to earn us some nice points. A podium, top 5 and top 10 result would be great here!

Seems like a secondary break with decent riders was always likely to win - just not enough good domestiques to pull it back on 5 star cobbles.
Congrats Beagle.

A real shame no one seems to care about CT races anymore. pathetic lack of activity in this thread.
Great report Gustavovskiy!

Agree that this is a bit of a waste. Surprise win there for a PCT team.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thanks bbl!
You're both right, it's kinda sad to see things like this, but the show must go on.

What a nice surprise! After miserable season Domene achieved his (probably) biggest win in entire career. Three more riders in TOP25 also brought few valuable points.
That´s nice to be finally a bit lucky after season of so many disappointments.
Thanks Gustav for great report!

Thanks for the report! Kumara with yet another surprising result, obviously disapointing from GVK, but he has other great results this season to make up for it!

Really impressive performance from Minoungou to take a Top 5. Usually on domestique duties, it was nice to see him go out on his own.
Bille as the solo break gave us some nice TV time as well!
Well done beagle on the win
