Confirmation of Division Changes 18-19 - Disbands
roturn
Below you find the lists of disbands as also the relegated and promoted teams.

Disbands

PT:
Hugo Boss
RBC Pro Cycling

PCT:
Team Reddit
Novatek-Panarmenian.net

CT:
Banco de Bogota
Team Cerveceria Costa Rica
Telia-Brussels Airlines
Rothaus - Aegon

Never good to see teams disband but it opens up for other teams to take unexpected promotion spots. Rothaus with the pre-season known disband.
Thanks to all managers, that contributed to this game.

Promotions

PCT > PT
Generali - EDF
SPAR - Shimano - SCG
Repsol - Netflix
Fablok - Bank BGZ
Indosat Ooredoo - ANZ
Podium Ambition
Ayubowan!

5 automatic promoted teams plus Podium Ambition and Ayubowan! to replace the disbands RBC and Hugo Boss.
Iberia - Team Degenkolb, who had the choice to promote, decided to remain in the PCT, which made room for Ayubowan!.

CT > PCT
Delvaux
Valio - DeLaval
Compal-Merida
Swisslion Cycling Team
Andorra Project - InGamba
ENI - MOL
Campari - Super Dry
Sauber Petronas Racing

Top 5 due to ranking position. ENI-MOL, Campary - Super Dry and Sauber Petronas Racing to fill the holes due to disbands in PT and PCT.

Relegations

PT > PCT
Team UBS
Desigual
Porto - Prio
Volvo acc. by Spotify
Berg Cycles

PCT> CT
Netia - Vonin
Nordstrom - BioWare
Euskaltel - Elior
Azteca - NBCSN

Just 4 relegating teams from PCT to CT! Due to the number of disbands (also in the area 5th to 10th in CT) Lierse remains in the PCT!

If any more changes are happening, it will be posted here in this thread.

Congrats to everyone who promoted...

Honestly speaking, I am surprised with how few disbands we have. Especially from established teams. That is very nice to see. Just 7 real disbands throughout 3 divisions and something like 60-70 managers is pretty good. To see a change of managers pr. season of something resembling 10% must be considered a huge succes!

I have to agree with sotd, so few disbands are great! Hope the new additions (when they come) will be good.

Congrats to the promoting teams, great to see some new faces in PT. Long overdue for Generali!

Delvaux and Sykkel_Freak showing that he is a former top manager as well with his promotion.

Lierse dodged a bullet there

Atlantius
Great with so few disbands. How come Vesuvio isn't on the list though, with SN gone?

I am honestly not happy with that decision. If you take Lierse you also HAVE to take Netia, especially after what happened at Cyprus. It's both or none imo. If I'd be trekbmc I'd be fuming about this.

It surely is a tough decision but I see it different really.

In the end it`s about ranking positions and then it`s 22nd vs 23rd.

It might have been close between them but just as close as 21st to 22nd, which is no problem as it`s with the line in between.

Due to this I see no reason to be fuming about it really. There was 1 free spot left, not two. Otherwise it might have been a possibility.

With CT having too many disbands such as Banco Bogota, Rothaus, Cerveceria in the range of teams, that would have gone up normally, there was a decision between going too far down the CT ranks or keeping the highest PCT relegation team.

Seriously, it`s hugely unlucky for trekbmc. I totally agree, but in my opinion nothing to be fuming about and yes, Cyprus wasn`t ideal surely. But also not the only race of the season to then can be made a reason out of.
Probably every single team had 1-2 races, where the team just did not do anything at all despite it should have. At least can find at least one for my team and for Lierse as well quickly.

Ollfardh
Bullet dodged indeed. Thanks a lot for the extra chance, sad to see so many disbands though.

Croatia - I know a lot of people like Trek better than me, but in the end I did defeat him in the rankings so I should get the first available spot and he should get the next if someone else disbands in my opinion. I also got screwed over by the AI a few times (as I think everyone here did at some point in the season). Look at Baltic Chain Tour, where Van Asbroeck decided not to sprint despite having won the race the year before, just because Vanbilsen had a better prologue and Van Asbroeck sacrificed himself on 4 flat stages trying save Vanbilsen's top 10 GC result. I'm not saying it's worse then Cyprus, but I actually chose not to ride in Cyprus because I feared some weird results could happen.

EDIT for clarification: I don't have a problem with Trek or anything, he did not deserve to go down either. Just a bit annoyed at some comments towards the end of the season where he got all the support to remain PCT despite finishing below me.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Like I could honestly complain about PCM not being able to assign leaders correctly and not utilize having as many strong puncheurs as I had for the season etc., it's massively unlucky for Trek, but I agree with the sentiment that there is more than one race in a season where the difference could have been made.

It will be nice to get the chance to compete in the PCT next season, it will definitely make my transfer season a lot more interesting, having the bigger budget this year will help our long term plans so much.

With 4 of the disbands being voluntary it's nice to see that there are actually only 4 activity disbands which is massively down on some of the previous years I've been part of the game, showing we have a really nice group here.

Some surprises here, very happy to see Sauber make their way to PCT again, but a shame that we still have never competed in the same division. Maybe next season Smile

Hugo Boss is quite a loss, as well as losing Novatek. I thought before the previous season that Selwink has a decent shot at promoting and if not the next season he’d have a good base to build off. A shame to lose him.

Ayubowan! getting themselves back to PT is good too, a quality team who should do pretty well in the coming season. But as Atlantius said, what’s the go with EA? I’d hate to see SN properly out of the MG and do hope one day he’ll resurface, and would even like his team to live on as some sort of legacy or something even (which I understand would be impossible though because nobody else should manage it).

Besides that, Lierse keeping their spot in PCT is great and hopefully Waeytens can step us finally Wink

Congrats on everyone going up and good luck on bouncing back to everyone going down.

I agree with roturn on the trek/Olfardh ordeal. Bottom line is whoever finished higher gets this bonus - in this case Olfardh. It is as objective as it could get. I don't see it as unfortunate to trekbmc, just as a lucky surprise for Olfardh.

I'm curious about this too. What's up with SN? Is he coming back?

SN is supposed to be back, yes.

Some pretty tough competition coming with us to the PT. Some of these disbands surely adds plenty of talent to fight for on their own, that and the usual mix of free agents. Next seasons PT hopeful gonna be a blast to be a part of

Just my 2 cents:

If someone stays in a division it should always be based on placement. Everyone will have bad races.

Congrats to all the promoting teams! Nice to see Lierse staying up, very much looking forward to a Belgian rivalry in PCT Grin

Interesting to see confirmation of who is disbanding and what the FA pool is going to look like. I'm afraid with so few top riders available due to very few disbands, we are going to have to highly overpay for even a 75 climber or riders like that

Time for start to plan our transfer season Grin

Happy for Lierse that they get to stay in PCT. They deserved it. Only makes it worse on Netia though. 3 horse race and they end up the one outsider.

Edit: I get what Ollfardh is saying about Netia getting a lot of support from other managers throughout the year instead of him, and I definitely agree it happened. I also don't think it's any question that Lierse should stay in PCT over Netia because they finished ahead of them. I don't think there should be any argument otherwise. Cyprus is really no excuse at all. We were all unlucky throughout the year.

I think the reactions disappointment/unfairness more comes from the fact that it was a 3 headed race the entire way with only one place up for grabs. Then that retroactively becomes two places, with Netia the one outsider. Must just make it tougher to deal with looking back on, when you ended up behind a place you didn't know you would need to be fighting for. Of course, that has no legitimate impact, as all scheduling was done at the beginning of the year, so we weren't actively doing anything late in the year. Still, I can see why someone would feel that way after the season when they're left on the outside. I know I certainly would.
