There won`t be a lot of changes in comparison to the recent 2018 season as the race days for PT/PCT/CT remain the same, the number of teams, bands, C2HC etc. all remains same.
A huge difference though is the step to a new game version.
- For the 2019 season the game will be played with PCM2018.
The game can handle the MG stat matrix and has a better AI than PCM2015 and while there surely are AI problems here and there as well with that amount of race days, I think it will be an improvement and after several years on the same version for other reasons, it`s time to move on.
- The OVL was slightly adjusted.
Really just a small adjustment after last years bigger change, which mainly impacted the sprinters.
To keep it short. The top-top riders are hardly impacted by that new change and basically remain in the +-0,02 OVL area.
Weaker sprinters though will drop a bit.
On the opposite time trialists climb a bit as they were pretty high in the rankings when checking PPRD compared with their wage. So time trialists get upped, sprinters lowered basically.
There might be changes here and there for other riders as well as the formulas are complex but that`s basically the core of the changes.
- Still need to look into new stat gain choices
Before transfers! but after renewals when the stat gain thread usually is posted I will have made a decision if there is 1-2 new training options. The options then would be chosable after the 2019 season when the stat gain choices are being picked.
- Renewals
No changes for the renewal process except the above mentioned OVL changes.
Only add them here to announce, that they will start soon, so you better all get your dropbox folders tidy again with old files being stored into a subfolder and a clean first folder for sharing the renewal files. More info in a later thread soon.
If there is something I have forgotten as a change, I will edit it once I remember. |

That all sounds great, thanks for great work behind the scenes. Assume transferring races from PCM15 ->18 has turned out not a major technical challenge if same/similar RD's in the mix? (similar RD's is great by the way). Change to overall will take some processing, but agree at any rate with the intention. Transfer season will show if it has swung too much one way or the other for sprinter and TT types! .

Confirmed then that PCM18 is on track to be used, really happy to hear so as I am a firm believer that the AI is a LOT better, has me even more excited for the season to come

I agree. Will be cool to see the better climbers and GC favorites get into large breakaways in the third week of the GT's and such. Will be great for the reporting

Alright, guess that's fine. I was on board with PCM 18 until l'Avenir. Some horrendous AI there, especially in the sprints. But hopefully it'll work out.

Avenir was always a weird AI race. Can't be the sole decider for a change. Other tests were so much better than this. |

I've been playing PCM18 for about two months now and it's perhaps the PCM I've enjoyed the most even though I haven't played any of the recent editions.
The game play is pretty good, especially in Grand Tours, you don't know if the breakaway or the pack will get the win in any stage. There's still the odd rider being way worse than he should be according to his stats but I guess that has something to do with fitness as well since I've only played in career mode. Oh and I absolutely love some of the massive breakaways in the mountain stages. Feels very real life like.
