A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0/v1.4 Introduction
Please read this carefully to understand the differences between the various "A.S.O.DB 2008" versions
A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0
- All files are based on the situation from 01.01.2008 until 30.06.2008. So, for example, you will find Jan Boven at Rabobank, banned riders (like Pedro Cardoso) as free riders, Team High Road (mini)shirts, 2007 national champions and so on. This version is for all the people who want to play a "real-life" career.
A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.4
- Same as v1.0, but now compatible for patch 1.0.1.4
A.S.O.DB 2008 v2.0.2.3 (still to be released)
- All files are based on the situation from 01.07.2008 until now. So, for example, you will find David Le Lay at Agritubel, banned riders (like Riccardo Ricco) as free riders, Team CSC Saxo Bank (mini)shirts, 2008 national champions and so on. This version is for everybody who wants to play the Tour de France as a single stage race without banned riders (like Manuel Beltran) and with all the right teamnames, shirts, etc. And/or play a career with files based on the teams from 01.07.2008 until now, from the start. A.S.O.DB 2008 v2.0.2.3 will be compatible for patch v2.0.2.3
Installation instructions v1.0/v1.4
Please follow these steps to install the A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0/v1.4 the correct way
- 1. Download the "A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0-v1.4.rar" and save it on your
- 1a. (PCMdaily)
- 2. Unzip the A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0-v1.4.rar on your desktop
- 3. Delete your "Cache" folder, you can do this automatically by running the "Cache emptier for PCM08.exe" ( included in the "A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0-v1.4.rar" )
- 4. Run the "A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0-v1.4.exe" and follow the instructions.
- 5. Patch:
- 5a. If your are playing Pro Cycling Manager 2008 without patch 1.0.1.4 you are good to go!
- 5b. But if your are playing Pro Cycling Manager 2008 with patch 1.0.1.4 you will have to go to C:\Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2008\Database and delete the "OfficialRelease.cdb" and rename the "OfficialReleaseV1.4.cdb" to "OfficialRelease.cdb"
- 6. Extras:
- 6a. Download "A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0/v1.4 Startlist Tour de France" and put it in your documents (...\Pro Cycling Manager 2008\Import)

A.S.O.DB 2008 v1.0/v1.4 Details Features Road
- All 1255 cyclist have realnames, new stats, correct photos, shirts, etc.
- All 93 free riders have realnames, new stats, correct photos, etc.
- All 64 teams have realnames, logos, minishirts, etc.
- All 23 national teams have correct (mini)shirts.
- 2 Teams added (Cyclingteam Jo Piels and P3 Tranfer - Batavus).
- 3 Teams removed (DHL Author, Team Regiostrom-Senges and Ergomo).
- 19 Manager photos (like E.Breukink and on personal request O.Tinkov)
- 2 Stages added (Monte Paschi Eroica and Plan de Corones).
- Various graphical updates added (like new press motos and real gravel-roads/snow "high resolution" for Plan de Corones).
- Various jerseys added (like national champion jerseys and team-specific/defualt race leader jerseys).
- And many more (like new country flags and corrected bonifications/sprintpoints/mountainsprints for Giro/Tour/Vuelta).

- All 50 track cyclists have realnames, correct photos, shirts, etc.

Just a couple of general comments from your screenshots:
Why does the Ukraine rider wear a generic jersey based on the Ukraine flag and not the actual Ukraine jersey?
It is Mark Cavendish, not Marc Cavendish
The graphics part seems to be, by far and away the best of any DB so far.
The stats however are a different story. They're extremely stereotypical, they show a lack of knowledge of the riders.
Rest assured I'll be using it for the time being. thanks for the hard work

Interesting project, but just two notes about track riders:
- B.Janiazyck
- D.Wojciech
They propably ment to be Poles, but these riders... doesn't exist. You propably thought about Błażej Janiaczyk, but he is mainly road rider and Wojciech Dybel, but he is riding only some 6-days as far as I remember.
It would be much better to put in Rafał Ratajczyk, World Cup winner in 2007 (scratch) and Łukasz Kwiatkowski, sprinter.
The DB is good, but the stats of the track cycling riders are very unrealistic. Then I don't think, that all track cycling riders are on the same stats level
