Welcome to Fantasy Manager!
The cycling-peloton has changed drastically. From now on we ride in country-teams consisting of 6 riders per team. The seasons will be short; appr. 21 racing days per season, and every cyclists riders every race.
It is your, yes your, task to lead one of these teams. Be the general manager and build the best selection for every season. To build a good team you will need to make transfers and train young potential new cyclists.
In every season the riders get one year older, so the development will be fast. Innovation is essential! What makes this story special?
- Fantasy cyclists, there is several great stories on this forum with realistic and similar riders
- Scout and train your own riders and see their development
- Apart from the transferperiod, there is not so much work
The peloton
There are three divisions. Countries in division 1 and 2 have six riders. Countries in division 3 have two riders that represent the country in the first two divisions. At first division 2 will play the season. Then division 1 will ride the season. The last 2 teams of every division make a degradation to the lower division. The first 2 teams will promote.
Transfers
It is possible to do transfers. For transfers you can contact the manager of the other team or if you can’t contact this manager, send me your proposals by pm. It is possible that other teams will contact you.
The amount of nationalities that can join your team is restricted. You need to have an agreement if you want to give a contract to different nationalities.
The development team
Before every season you can choose to build a development team. This development team will always consist of 5 riders and cost €2000. For extra support per cyclists, you have to pay something extra. It is possible to transfer riders from your main team to your developmentteam.
Manager-points
How can we see who is the best manager? At the end of the season and maybe during the transfer period, you can earn money for your budget. You can convert (part of) your budget to management points. You cannot convert management points back to money. It is not possible to have a budget higher than €15.000 before the start of a season.
How does a season work, when do you expect me to do something?
Step 1: The stats are updated. The transfermarket starts! With your budget you can buy and sell riders. Negotiate and improve your selection!
Step 2: You can buy a development-team and personal support for the upcoming season and transfer cyclists from the main team to your development-team from your development-team to your main team.
Step 3: You can choose your trade-partners for the upcoming season(s) and eventually transfer budget into manager-points.
Step 4: We will ride the full season. According to the general ranking, you will earn money.
After this process, we start again with step 1

Omloop het Nieuwsblad – division 1
The first test stage in the first division will be the Omloop het Nieuwsblad. 15 riders in 15 different teams are in the breakaway!
Argentina, Spain and France are not in the group and control the peloton. The Netherlands was the other team without a representative in the breakaway, but they decided to keep calm (Dutch mentality?) A/o Cucharra (ESP) and Azul (ARG) are setting a high pace in the peloton which decimates the peloton. The breakaway is still holding though.
The group consists of 37 riders now and Vazquez (ARG) is setting a pace which is even higher. An attack by Pfächtl (AUT) makes the breakaway to come to an end. Pfächtl is also caught, because Kamarek (POL) was paying attention.
An attack! It is Brewer (CAN), but he is countered by Kapuchov (UKR). We are heading towards a sprint. Del Pronto (ESP) is leading the peloton with Olivado (ESP) in his wheel. Olivado is starting the sprint. Can he hold on?
Yes he takes the victory!
GP Miguel Indurain – division 2
The first test race in the second divison will be the GP Miguel Indurain.
In the attack in The Bask Country, a rider from the Bask country, it is Izurria (COL). He joins a group with Ping (CHI), Tomic (SRB), Fluijtenaerts (BEL) and O’Bannell (IRE). In the peloton it are Wolves (AUS) and Cadely (CZE-SVK) that are leading the group. They trust their in their leaders; Hughson (AUS) and Vogdarvan (CZE-SVK).
Because of some falls, some gaps in the peloton had to be repaired. This made the race quite chaotic. Finland and Denmark are leading the peloton now, which makes the group small, upon 30 cyclists. Channe (BEL) is literally falling away.
Herben (DEN) is setting even a higher pace. We are going to the final climb with a group of 19 riders. Now it is everyon for himself. The lightweighted pocketclimbers have an advantage on this steep Bask climb. Hughson (AUS) is one of those pocketclimbers. The Australian, last year riding for Trinidad&Tobago faces the climb the fastest and wins the race.

Yup, I added you. Australia did just promote to the first division.
In division 1 now only Eritrea and Mexico are free!
You don't need to do anything more yet. Only during the transferperiode you can make changes to your team, if you want, but I will tell you by then. |

Laizake should do better than that in a reduced sprint - guess it's not yet PCM18 so sprints like that don't have great AI Thanks for getting it started Jeis!

The transfermarket has opened!
You have untill tuesday 14-05 to make changes to your team
In division 1 the buget is €10.000. In division 2 the budget is €6000. Buying developmentteams can be done later.
What are the stats of riders in my team and in other teams/divisions?
For the statistics of the riders, check this document: https://docs.goog...1173244661 Notice that there is also a tab with your developmentteam.
You can see the full database and you can see the young riders that every team got (you have them for free this time, lucky bastards )
How do I buy or sell a rider?
If you want to buy or sell a rider post it in the group, contact me or contact the manager of the team directly. I manage the teams without a manager. If both managers agree, the deal is finished.
Which riders can I buy?
You can only buy those nationalities that you have a trade contract with. You can change the trade contracts every 1/2/3 year after the transfermarket. You can also buy riders from development-teams.
The trade contracts: https://docs.goog...1643747300
If you don't have a mutual trade contract, the name will be red and buying a rider with this nationality will cost you €1500 to the UCI.
An example: Denmark can buy cyclist with the Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Finnish or Korean natioality, because of their trade contracts. If they want a Dutch or a South-Korean cyclist, they have to pay €1500 to the UCI.
What happens with the budget that is left?
If you want to keep your young riders you need to buy a development-team (tab "training and development" You can do this later. You can use the budget that is left next season.
Difficult? I will always answer your questions.
Fine with your team? Just keep it like this |
