Welcome to Canada for the first edition of the Lac Megantic Classic! It's a flat classic but those who can go over speed-bumps will have troubles to even finish in the first group, as until the last 40 kms, there's a circuit with a climb, which might not be hard enough to cause some sprinters to be dropped, but the final 20 kms are almost completely flat, so a mass sprint finish is expected.
Favourites | SPR | ACC | FLA | HIL | Contenders | SPR | ACC | FLA | HIL | Swift | 84 | 82 | 74 | 68 | Guerao | 83 | 76 | 74 | 64 | Mohs | 83 | 82 | 75 | 65 | Vantomme | 82 | 78 | 73 | 64 | Coquard | 82 | 83 | 73 | 65 | Guardini | 80 | 82 | 72 | 64 | Cavendish | 83 | 81 | 73 | 65 | Keukeleire | 80 | 79 | 72 | 70 | Grosu | 82 | 80 | 73 | 73 | Guillén | 81 | 82 | 67 | 61 | Holloway | 80 | 82 | 78 | 69 | Van der Sande | 79 | 79 | 75 | 70 | Demare | 80 | 81 | 73 | 79 | Moser | 80 | 79 | 72 | 67 | Lo Cicero | 84 | 78 | 72 | 64 | Porsev | 79 | 80 | 74 | 66 | Silvestre | 80 | 81 | 78 | 67 | Lander | 79 | 77 | 77 | 69 | Kump | 80 | 80 | 74 | 76 | Stepniak | 79 | 79 | 72 | 67 | Goss | 82 | 78 | 74 | 67 | Van Poppel | 80 | 78 | 72 | 64 | Itami | 80 | 82 | 75 | 61 | Hayakawa | 79 | 79 | 73 | 64 |
Swift is the fastest sprinter and probably the top favourite, having a good train with Van der Sande and Sbaragli and being good enough in the climbs to not suffer a lot there.
Mohs has the best train with Guardini and Stepniak, and while being not as fast as Swift, if his team can do a proper lead-out for the German, he becomes the main favourite for the win. Cavendish also has a good train, which isn't as strong as Fablok's, but probably better than any other train.
Grosu, Demare and Kump aren't as fast as the other sprinter, but will try to use their better climbing abilities in his favour to be fresher in the sprint.
Also, if the race goes really fast, especially in the flat parts, Holloway and Silvestre can be heavily benefitted.
Coquard, Lo Cicero and Goss are all capable of winning the race, but for that they must be in the right wheel, something that isn't easy to do
Being a PTHC classic, you could expect most of the top sprinters in PCT being here, so riders like Guerao, Vantomme, Itami, Keukeleire and Guillén will be looking for great places

No LLS maybe Veyhe, Kapsa or Morkov for the late Netia attack then
Cheering for Kump here for a hard day, but Demare and Grosu will be tough customers. If it's a full sprint, Swift vs Coquard vs Mohs/Guardini could be interesting.

Really wouldn't have been a bad move to send LLS here but I didn't. We might get a good result here, but we might not, could be a lot of luck involved, but 4th in the PCM startlist is a good sign at least.
Thanks for the preview Aquarius! Kump or Goss to win for me. (or better yet, Guillen )

This is where we need to start to turn things around. No more slacking off, untimely crashes and hiding behind GT overperformances.
Demare should love this. Top 3 must be the goal.
It'll be tough with that opposition, but it's about time we're on the receiving side of luck again. We even brought our best puncheurs to try and make the race hard (I know it won't happen).

Would be awesome in his absence but our late flat attacks tally is currently at an all-time 0. Besides, Morkov's got enough on his hands stealing leadership and imploding.

I do have a good feeling for Holloway here.. would be great, if it comes down to a clean bunch sprint between all those sprinters. Swift with a race to lose, I guess, but of course anything can happen in a packed startlist. Goss as my obvious man to cheer for, but I doubt he will come far in this field.

Even though Itami and Hayakawa are here I dont have much hope of anything better than a Top 15, this field is just too deep.

Kraftwerk train delivered a 1-2 last time out, stronger opposition this time, will be happy with a top 5 for Cav.
Great preview Aquarius.

Hopefully this will be one for the punchy sprinters. Fancy Demare vs. Kump vs. Grosu...

Was hoping for a hard race that suits Reimer bit since he is not in the preview I dont fancy any good result. |

We need a strong result, but I have to admit that my faith in Lo Cicero is starting to get rather low...

In order to stay in touch with the top 3, we need a good performance here by Coquard, but I doubt it will be a good race for us. It seems too hard for Coquard and too easy for Koretzky.
Grosu and Swift are the favorites for me, with outsiders in Kump and Demare.

Hopefully the hills will have some impact, in which case we could be in for a great result here. Top-10 is the minimum for me though this time

Quite fun to see that a stage I made 5 years ago has now made it into the MG. I don't recall it being too hard for the sprinters, despite it's appearance, but let's see what happens.

Well, definitely Swift's race to lose. Demare and Grosu close behind. Goss has great support here so should hopefully find himself somewhere within the top-10.

Ah yeh, so Eritel were here. Picked a terrible line up for the race, and so they duly did nothing.
Tough year for Gebrezgabihier. I loan him out to Project Africa, and then the rest of the team disappears. He is earning his xp at least, and put on a great effort today.
Disappointing to see Swift so bad but Festina just can't stop winning the PTHC races, so congrats SotD. If Festina do win PT again, this is where they are making the difference.

Festina again Good answer on Vesely's stage-win at the TdS!
A great sprint from Goss. At least some good news after Morton's terrible TTT output.. Congrats, Eden. Goss doing pretty fine this year - opposing to Burghardt, he's been a good transfer, I guess

A lot better than many similar or stronger riders, but I'm still not entirely happy. We won't get anywhere with just "decent" results.
Would've helped to see Lander, Felline etc. be in the mix for at least some points.
