I'm Flo76 In legruppetto but i've other name here !
With the facilitators of the Gruppetto's stages section, we have launched a collective project on a single .zcts file. It is aimed for both experienced stagemakers and beginners. In particular, we hope that it can serve as a kind of "workshop", where new stagemakers can learns some tricks and find pleasure in stagemaking!
The work proceeds in the form of a "relay", working on the same .zcts file. Whoever wants to take part in this collaborative project announces the part of the landscape they would like to model. After the stagemaker who have been working on the file prior to that finishes their work, the file is transferred and the new stagemaker can start working on their part.
First of all, we would like to know if anyone would be interested in participating in this project. Soon after volunteers come forward the file will be made available for the advancement of work. Note, however, that it is only compatible with PCM 2017!
After 4 contributions from stagemakers at Gruppetto, we would like to have a global .zcts file, with other communities helping as well. In the end, the aim is to cover all of the northern French Alps. There already exists a file for the southern part, so that way most of the French Alps would be covered!
What is the current state of the project?
(picture will be modified as we progress)
4 stagemakers already participated (one of which two times)!
Before one starts working on the .zcts, it is necessary to choose the area they will work on and download several IB packs, collected in the file below! Without these IBs, when the file is opened, many features and the work of previous stagemakers gets lost. Therefore it is necessary that everyone working on the file has the same IBs as everyone else, which includes several additional ones on top of those that come with the game. Furthermore, for the same reason, only IB's from the main game and these additional packs should be used, otherwise they will get lost in the process later on.
Sounds like a very interesting project, I'd might have time over the (Aussie) summer to contribute, but I do have a couple questions, firstly is it one zcts file for the whole project or do we each make an individual zcts file?
And also, is there a method to determine which roads to include (assuming in some towns some are too small to include, because of the scale, etc.) and the same for other features, I've just never really made whole zcts files, so it'd be good to know the details of how it works.

For your first question, no, it's one .zcts for all stagemakers, it's the reason that we name that "the relay", because one by one we took the .zcts and modelized on same .zcts
-And for the second, it's your choise, we let liberty for the stagemakers . You have to do like you do everytime when you modelized ! We don't include other rules
