You guys are the heartbeat of the MG, you all make it great and are stunning members to have around the game. A very difficult decision here
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

This! Shonak for me, what an awesome story he's having since joining the mg. Roturn and knockout with him on the podium.

For a new manager joining the MG, these are the guys we look up to for inspiration. Well deserved nominations. And I've made my (tough) choice!

I'm very honored to be nominated for this one again! Some great guys in that list. Both in terms of effort and the person behind the screen. Every one of those will be a deserving winner.

Congrats to Shonak! I can't add anything else to this:
Shonak's ascent to the PT is something that hasn't been seen often in the Man-Game, and after coming short last year, Strava's manager has his team's likeability rewarded..
Although most of the other nominees would have been worthy winners You all make the MG better!

Fully deserved winner IMO. Shonak have managed to do incredibly well over the course of 2017. In PCT aswell as PT. Somewhat a surprising promoter and and even more surprising top 10 in the PT. Always making the most out of the teams potential (Some will surely say more than the most).
I'm a bit sad to see my own name as the bottom one. While I'm extremely honored to be nominated, I feel like it will be extremely difficult for me to replicate the season I managed to perform in the year of 2017:
Spoiler SEASON 2017
December 2017:
* 5th Tour of California
* 2 Stagewins
* 2nd U25
* 5th GP Liechtenstein
* 6th Amstel Gold Race
* 7th Ronde van Vlaanderen
* 2 Stagewins Giro d'Italia
November 2017:
* 2nd Chrono des Herbiers
* 6th GC aswell
* 3rd Tour of Qatar
* 9th GC aswell
* 1 Stagewin
* 5th Tirreno-Adriatico
* Winner U25 Competition
* 5th Classique du Grand-Duché
* 7th Tour d'Afrique
* Stagewin Paris-Nice
* 10th Milano-San Remo
SEASON 2016
April 2017:
* PT Winner (1.649 pts margin)
* Winner Tour of Tasmania
* 3rd GC aswell
* 1 Stagewin
March 2017
* Winner Lisbon Classic
* 2nd GP Liechtenstein
* 2nd Copenhagen-Malmo TTT
* 2 Stagewins at TONE
February 2017:
* 9th Deutschland Tour
* 1 Stagewin
* 6th GP Moscow
* 2nd Tour of Colombia
* 1 Stagewin
January 2017:
* 3rd Tour de France January 2017
* 3 Stagewins
* 2nd U25 Competition
* 5 Days in Leaders Jersey
* 2nd Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha
I think it is safe to say, that I will never reach a period again with such results. The 2017 calender-year have basically been perfect, with just 3 or 4 races not worth mentioning.
Oh well... I guess you can't have a post without me whining just a little bit.

@SotD: I think there is a bit of confusion between Manager of the Year and Team of the Year for some. I based my nominations on an old definition by SN:
SportingNonsense wrote:
For Manager of the Year, we're looking for the manager who has been a valuable part of the ManGame community. Whether that be through activity in HQ or Race Discussion threads, or contributing to the game by reporting, writing pre-season previews or anything like that.
Team of the Year need not necesarily be the team that is currently leading each division. This is as much an award to recognise the skill that a Team may have shown in transfer season or the race planning stage. It could also be simply for your favourite team in the game, for whatever reason that may be.
So I ignored team success and based it on activity only. Team success is imo only part of the Team of the Year voting. Not sure if this is still the way it is intended though and I'm not sure if people voted for Shonak as active manager or for the story of Strava's success.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Yeah it's actually also stated in the notes here.
Note 3: MG Manager of the Year is not meant to reward the team's performances - we have planned a new event involving Man-Game Awards for that, but the intention is to repay the manager's commitment to the game when it comes to helping out, reporting, staying active etc.
I feel like the award has also always valued team success, though, at least in part. The winners have always been active guys that contribute a lot to the MG either way, so it doesn't really bother me.

There aren't any "Team of the Year" award this year - Not that I have noticed, anyway, so I thought it would be a combination of all sort of things - Which imo is also heavily reflected by the fact that Shonak has won the title, instead of fe. Roturn, who brought back the game and took the hardest burden while still managing to be a very active member. (I see now that there is some sort of Man-Game awardshow planned, though - although I don't get why it isn't all awarded at the same time). - Also where do I find that "Note 3"? I don't see it here, neither at the "PCM.Daily Awards: Voting Open!"-News.
If activity and effort in the game was the primary reason for peoples votes I guess the top 5 would be between Roturn, Roman, tsmoha, Croatia and Aquarius, and yet Roturn and tsmoha is the lowest rated besides me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think I should win this award. Others have performed much better than anticipated and doing so while also being very active, and I think that should be a good way of handing the award, but it doesn't seem like people are interpreting the award the same - which is fine, but then there shouldn't be an added "note" to the award. Even the victory post doesn't really seem in sync with the note:
Shonak's ascent to the PT is something that hasn't been seen often in the Man-Game, and after coming short last year, Strava's manager has his team's likeability rewarded.

Also where do I find that "Note 3"? I don't see it here, neither at the "PCM.Daily Awards: Voting Open!"-News.
It's in one of the three stickied posts in the awards forum, the Information thread to be clear. I linked it in my post if you click on the blue 'here' If it doesn't work try this direct link: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1272559.
although I don't get why it isn't all awarded at the same time
Unfortunately, with the fact that the MG season has started this late through the calendar year, it felt like there was too much disparity between the MG season and the real life one. Awards such as Team of the Year would have gotten awkward since some teams might have obviously performed a lot differently between an MG season and another, and we would have had to for example add years next to each Team etc. which would have been really odd and a bit counter-intuitive when we could have just put the MG awards in an even bigger spotlight - especially since Selwink was already organising some unofficial MG awards in the off-season the last couple of years.
Same thing with the race awards and the hq ones, a lot of good races haven't even been raced, last year only 2 GTs could have been nominated, this year only the Giro was done before the nominations were open. It just wouldn't have been fair. On the other hand, activity based awards such as New/Manager and Reporter were pretty ok to have and the entire admin crew that discussed this topic agreed that it would be fine to make such a distinction - especially since this discussion had already been had on Skype 2 or 3 months before and most people were eager to see separate MG awards.
Officially, I wrote this in the Discussion opening post:
Spoiler The awards below do not follow the Management Game season. It's simply all management game actions that took place from January 1st 2017 until the current date.
You might have noticed that we've gotten rid of some Management Game awards, but fear not, it's because of a simple reason: this year the MG has started quite a few months later compared to the current calendar year, and we therefore decided that it would make sense to move five of the old awards to a new event that will take place after the 2017 MG season is done and dusted - and will also include quite a few more awards to make stuff more exciting!
Don't get me wrong, I don't think I should win this award. Others have performed much better than anticipated and doing so while also being very active, and I think that should be a good way of handing the award, but it doesn't seem like people are interpreting the award the same - which is fine, but then there shouldn't be an added "note" to the award
I always interpreted that note as a way of telling people 'Alright, we know that the definition of best manager can vary, but since there's 2 very similar awards, just know that we'd like one award to signify this and the other to indicate this other thing. But you're free to nominate whoever you prefer'. It's not a rule, mostly because it's a subjective award after all.
I'm aware that people might have been a bit misled by the fact that there's no Best Team Award at this moment of the year, but I feel like the nominations included most of the more impactful managers in the MG, so they turned out alright
Even the victory post doesn't really seem in sync with the note:
Shonak's ascent to the PT is something that hasn't been seen often in the Man-Game, and after coming short last year, Strava's manager has his team's likeability rewarded.
It's not in sync with the note and I was aware of it while writing it. I feel like I could've done Shonak's activity more justice for sure. But frankly I'm not a good writer at all and I didn't know what to say, and that looked good enough right then. I felt like it at least conveyed why I thought people would vote Shonak over anyone else

I completely forgot to give feedback to your answer.
Alright, didn't notice that "sticky post". Maybe add it to the thread to ensure everyone sees it?
I agree that Man-Game awards make sense at the end of the season rather the end/beginning of a calender year. But IMO the manager of the year could have easily been used in the Man-Game awards aswell (also the reporter btw), instead of making it fractioned. Looking at the amount of votes, it doesn't really seem like it has any interest to others than those of us already taking part in the game.
