Gent-Wevelgem often saw surprising winners such as Daniel or Sinkeldam recently but also has two of the biggest cobblers in MG history. And even better as both are at the start in 2016!
Boonen won in 2007, 2008 and 2012 and still might have it for another result due to his sprint combination. Though he is far from his prime and so better chances for Cancellara, who won in 2010 and still is a very valuable rider even as veteran rider.
Though better chances for the big PCT cobblers. Starting of course with Summerhill, who dominated the cobbles in 2015 in this division and also showed good races this year.
Teunissen, Zepuntke, Vanbilsen might be the three biggest challenger. But a lot more could be named such as Sibilla, Baugnies, Franzoi or Thomas.

Another chance for Thomas? I hope so as he finished 5th last year and he's now got previous in C1 cobbles. Certainly we'll be looking to lead the CT challenge here and if Stefan or Martin gets moving it could be great for us.

I didn't came here beacuse I would bet that this is going to be a sprint finish with many more contenders than just the >70 cobblers...

Finaly, another race for us. Vanbilsen should be the team leader, but plan B is Van Asbroeck if we get an easy race.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Summerhill should have this.
However, if it should come down to a sprint, others like Breschel or Boonen come to the front more.

If it's a hard race Strava can gain some points potentially due to team strength and many options. But if it's raced conservatively, Asbroeck or Boonen have really good chances. Outside pick De Backer tho, whose sprint is still not too shabby to score some points. Two riders in Top 10 would be nice overall.

Hoping that the cobbles won't be too decisive so it'll come down to a sprint with Breschel in the front group, where he would be expected to get a good result.

One of our only C1 races purely based on Boonen's pedigree here. We though we'd give him one old glory race. I expect nothing but hope for more attacking from the team than in Herning.

Not sure on my expectations here. I think this might suit Cancellara with his high FL stat, but for some reason I think Kuznetsov will be my best rider here. Hoping for a top-5, expecting a bit worse than that.

While I certainly expect to get some points here, a win would be surprising, would take one hell of a ride from Summerhill. I'd look for Breschel or Van Asbroeck to take this one as I expect a sprint finish.

Would be delighted if Bush repeated his heroics form our last C1 outing. Top 5 again probably asking a bit much in this start list, but a decent candidate for the lower top 10 positions. Looking forward to this one!

Oh yes, we needed that win! Great work from the team, always seeing the yellow-blacks at the front of the pack, then Vanbilsen finishing it up perfectly.
Thanks for the report, roturn!

5th in 2015, 5th in 2016. G being consistent, except 5th as a CT team is a much bigger result. In addition to the points themselves it's a nice gain against the other CT teams who made the trip here. All in all, very happy.
And again we didn't crash.

8th and 21st place is quite good for a team not having a cobble focus Thanks for a great report and a few bonus points is just great.
