Tired of waiting for the official ManGame-season to begin? Interested in seeing your Aussies (or Kiwis, or Malaysians, or Brits, Japanese) racing the world's fastest criterium series? Then some of us managers now get the chance to participate at the Bay Classic Series in Australia!
The Idea/ Just like the past three years, we found some sponsors to provide the cycling fans in Australia (and around the world, too) an unofficial start to the 2016 season. No ranking points will be rewarded, no XPs will be gained, no racedays will be used.. it's just for fun! Interested? Then continue to read..
The Race/ The Bay Classic Series is a road cycling race held in and around Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Australia. It consists of 4 criteriums (mostly flat, one hilly). Points are awarded to the first 10 riders at the finish (12, 10, 8 to 1).
Previous winners:
2013 Chris Sutton
2014 Leigh Howard
2015 Michael Matthews
Stages 2016:
1 Geelong (Ritchie Boulevard)
2 Geelong (Eastern Park)
3 Portarlington
4 Williamstown
The Teams/ The Bay Classic Series is first and foremost an Australian event. 14 teams (maybe more) in total will participate, consisting of a selection of your team's riders. As used to be, there may also be a Malaysian team and two teams from New Zealand (plus "National Teams" for Japan and/or Great Britain and maybe a mixed Asian) participating. There will be 5 riders per team and now it's your turn..
The Riders/ Each ManGame-manager with an appropiate rider* in his team is allowed to subscribe up to 3 riders** of his ManGame-team. I will then allocate your riders to one of the teams and will update the 2nd post with the "nominees" and team's list, so that you can see if there's still a free slot within the teams.
*The riders have to be:
- from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia (max 5), Japan (5), Great Britain and/or Ireland ( )
- (other rider's nationalities - Asia preferred - may be accepted at a later point, to fill missing spots: so feel free to nominate them for a waiting list)
- Sprint-stat <= 80
- Hill-stat <= 76
- OVL < 77.00
**Exception:
- Australian or New Zealand registered teams may be accepted to ride in their own colors
- If a non-Aussie/Kiwi team is able to send 5 Australian riders at once, the race organization may consider inviting this "complete" team (replacing an "amateur" team)
Special entry for 2016: Kenyan Riders Downunder
You can nominate your Kenyan riders in addition to those nations/restrictions as said in the rules. The stat limits remain the same though.
The Deadline/ The deadline for subscribing to this event depends on when all Race Planners have been send to SN: there won't be any reports until all MG teams have planned their season. Anyway, since I'm on my final nightshifts until tuesday, I would prefer to close the subscribtions on monday, so that I can write the reports on my final nightshift.. Any questions? Just ask right away!
Your nominees can be posted in this thread!

Your team may actually get to ride in your own colors, with a 5-men-squad. So please (at least try to) nominate five riders (Aussies/Kiwis preferred) straight away

Hey, Carlsberg - Danske Bank actually have an Aussie now, and he actually might be able to do something! Mitch Docker can report for duty to whatever team fits.

I'm loving that this is back again, I've always been a big supporter of the Bay Classic Criterium series, having a fully Malaysian Sauber team present last year.
So of course I'm going to nominate some riders, and if the chance comes up to send a full team again then I'd love to take it if not enough other riders get nominated.
Assuming I'm right in thinking those are equal or under stats then my list would be.
Mohamed Harrif Salleh (an ever present)
Muhamad Adiq Othman (debuted last year)
Anuar Manan (an ever present)
which is the 3, then can I put the following on a reserve list in case not enough riders get nominated and there is the option for a second Malaysian team or empty spots on mixed Asian teams.
Azizulhasni Awang (an ever present)
Muhammad Suhaimi Ghani (level 1.00 talent looking to make a debut)
Muhamma Afif Ahmad Zamri (loaned out this year, looking to debut)
Mohammad Saufi Mat Senan (present 2 years, skipped last year)
As always, I have nominated in order of preference.

We would love to race as a full 5 man team, but otherwise we will nominate:
Alex Meenhorst
Joseph Cooper
Anton Cooper
We also have another oceanian rider:
Ronald Sue who is a Fijian, and I guess he would be fitting in in the oceanian theme in case there's not enough riders.
Those four rider + Cameron Karwowski would go into my team if we could get a full team

I will nominate
Kenji Itami
Kazushige Kuboki
Yusuke Hatanaka
And if you need to fill some teams
Tomohiro Hayakawa
Shiki Kuroeda
Ho Ting Kwok
(And anyone else on my team that meet the guidelines tbh, but those are probably the next 3 most interesting for this.)
