I'm in
As per usual all riders I have picked are now cursed. If only I could stand picking Froome...

I'm in! Think I have a good team but we'll see... Not sure about Talansky at the moment. |

Inskies! Hopefully using the local Orbea jersey will bring some luck - I think I'm going to need it this time

Last minute changes to my team, really struggling with most these decisions don't think I have much of a chance.

Los Breakaway Bandidos Team Startlist
All-rounders
Chris Froome (SKY)
Andrew Talansky (TCG)
Climbers
Nairo Quintana (MOV)
Daniel Navarro (COF)
Sprinter
Peter Sagan (TCS)
Unclassified
Simon Gerrans (OGE)
Christian Knees (SKY)
Arnets Txurruka (CJR)
Wildcard (Unclassified)
Haimar Zubeldia Agirre (TFR)
I've gone with Froome, Quintana and Sagan again after their strong performances for me in France, but that means I had only 34 points left for the rest of my team. I wanted Rodriguez or Valverde too, but the extra specialists would have taken me over the 100 limit. Talansky was a decent option for only 8, Gerrans ridiculously cheap at 6 and Zubeldia and Navarro both are a good chance to do well in the mountains. Txurruka was the stand out from the 4 riders, with Knees a chance to pull in some assist points instead of taking a risk on Richeze or Berhane.

Looks a good one OZ.
I also went with Sagan, the man is a monster.
I have AR: TvG, Nibali
CL: Quintana, Moreno
SP: Sagan
Dom: Pelucchi, Dumoilin, barbero, dombrowski.
Big gamble on Nibbles, I am not convinced about Aru. Moreno is the Cobo pick. Pelucchi is the hidden Dom sprinter guy. Barbero should be up there for a number of stages I think. dumbo, TvG , Dumoilin have points to prove, Quintana for me is the winner.

Didn't go with Sagan here, was a choice between Aru and Degenkolb or Sagan and Majka, decided I didn't want 2 Saxo riders.
All-Rounders:
Alejandro Valverde (MOV) - Relatively cheap for his abilities and I know that he won't struggle to do the vuelta after the tour, which I don't trust Froome or Quintana to do so well as at the tour, also I always find the vuelta route suits a rider of his type, at least to be up there on stage finishes
Tejay van Garderen (BMC) - Consistent at the tour before he got sick, so I guess we'll just see what happens
Climbers:
Joaquim Rodriguez (KAT) - hoping he targets the polka - dots like at the tour or has a good GC (top 5?) showing, he's good on the punchy climbs that the vuelta has, so definitely up there on stage finishes, also he is my Cobo pick
Esteban Chaves (OGE) - Pretty cheap and he Rode well at the start of the Giro, so maybe some luck?, good stage placings or maybe he'll target KOM?
Sprinter:
John Degenkolb (GIA) - Not many top sprinters here and I couldn't afford Sagan. (besides, he can't win ) Degenkolb will be up there on most flat stages and have a pretty good shot on the hillier finishes
Unclassified:
Alessandro de Marchi (BMC) - Super-combative at last years tour and climbed really well at the vuelta (a stage win if I remember correctly) Could get some stage wins from breaks, but I'm really praying he targets polka-dots, also, he is one of my favourite current riders
Simon Gerrans (OGE) - Always got to have an Aussie and seriously, he's had some really bad luck this season, but if he has recovered and he stays on the bike, then he really could be worth it for his cheap price
Jelle Vanendert. (LTS) - He could be a dark horse on hilly stages or in breaks,
Other (climber):
Fabio Aru (AST) Pretty cheap and arguably one of the best climbers who didn't ride the tour here, if Astana make him leader and tiredness becomes a factor...
So far my team is tied 3rd overall due to having 2 BMC riders and 2 Orica riders.
We'll see how it goes, quite a few riders I'm not sure on how they'll be.
Regrets are that I had Dombo but swapped him for Vanendert and Txurrara (good pick OZrocker )

Tejay Van Garderen - Should be a good pick for the GC podium
Alejandro Valverde - Should be able to get a top 5 I guess
Nairo Quintana - Winner of the Vuelta
Joaquim Rodriguez - Top 7?
John Degenkolb - Stage win(s)
Amets Txurruka - Breakaway points.
Ariel Maximiliano Richeze - Decent sprint points?
Natnael Berhane - Breakaway + assist points hopefully
Maarten Tjallingii - Breakaway points
Not a team I'm too pleased with, but should still be pretty decent.

Valverde: Will get the most points of all of the riders.
Rodriguez: Allways performs in the vuelta. Pretty cheap aswell.
Quintana: Hopefully he'll win.
Sanchez: 10 ten GC
Degenkolb: Best sprinter
Txurruka: Breakaways
Dombrowski: Breakaways
Pelucchi: Top 3 sprints
Ewan: Top 5 sprints. |

And again I think that I will finish around 100th in PCM Daily League and Overall Rank around 15000... Funny. So my horrible team is:
A. Valverde
V. Nibali
R. Majka
J. Rodriguez
P. Sagan
M. Tjallingi
T. Dumoulin
J. Craddock
G. Thomas
Good luck & have fun! |

While we're posting teams...
Chris Froome - Froome.exe
Alejandro Valverde - Gets tons of points.
Joaquim Rodriguez - Also gets tons of points.
Daniel Moreno - Purito.2
John Degenkolb - Best sprinter here, and Sagan will go easy.
Frank Schleck - Maybe good GC or a breakaway win . A steal for 6 points.
Joe Dombrowski - Hot after Utah, maybe a stage win.
Lawson Craddock - Young, potential for results.
Samuel Sanchez - Top ten, and will take over BMC when Tejay abandons |

Decent start, 1-2-3 yesterday . Aru has to start getting me points though. Same goes for Talansky, but I fear he will only compete in breakaways. Sadly Pelucchi dropped out already... I hope Barbero and Schleck will get me some points too. |
