This database will let you start a career 5 years from now, where the young prospects of today have become the stars and the stars of today will have declined or even retired. This is much like the fantasy databases Jesleyh and I did for previous versions of PCM, but with one big difference: The focus will be mainly on the youth riders, which we haven’t been focusing on much in the previous projects.
I will replace almost all teams with new, custom teams. Also, the rosters will be adjusted completely to match the new sponsors’ regions and of course the strength of the riders according to the divisions of the teams. The graphics for the teams will be mainly my own creations, but many promising jerseys from other graphic artists will be in there as well. Since I prefer to have big packs in the database, those will have more chance to end up in the database than standalone jerseys. I won’t take submissions, but I’m going to search for jerseys on the forum myself and contact the creators by PM.
Like in previous versions I will create a brand new race calendar, with a lot of fantasy races. To be sure they don’t interfere with the existing races, I’ll give them a different prefix (for example the Tour de France, with only 7 stages, will be futdb_france). The calendar will contain only 2 Grand Tours: a Tour of Europe and most likely a Tour of South America, but I’m not sure if there will be enough stages to create a GT and one or two variants in South America. If not possible, I will create either a Tour of North and South America or a Tour of Africa. I’m not going to create the stages myself, but I’m going to collect stages from different races and combine them.
The database will be an add-on to the Expansion Pack, so the Expansion Pack V1.5 will be required to play with this Future Database.

Nice idea haasje, looking forward to test it.
What i found strange though is extreme lack of any teams from central and eastern europe apart from two russian ones. You know that countries like Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, Slovenia, Baltic counties,... are also into cycling?
It would be cool to use for example my man-game fantasy team Metinvest as the one of the continental eastern european setups.

@Avin: First of all, I'm following the focus of the Expansion Pack, being Western Europe and the USA. Second of all, the countries I picked are just provisional, I can still change them if I run into some nice jerseys for other countries.
And btw, most teams from Eastern Europe are CT and I haven't selected the countries for CT yet.

Very cool idea, dont think all the teams but sky would have dissapeared or changed sponsors and the tour and giro modificated so drastically...
Anyway just one guys view I think it is very cool and interesting either way..

Team Deutsche Post should be at least PCT. The way Germany has been riding lately and its economic prowess, I imagine there'll be at least two PT teams IRL again.
Very interesting project. I always wanted to have a bit of a new career thingy to motivate me for those long careers and that's just might be it.

that´s a nice idea, some months ago I thought about initiating something similar like this, and already planned the sponsors...
I think there should be at least one african, one Arabian and one Asian team in PCT or WT, because cycling there expands quickly. Africa has a lot of great athlets, it´s only a question of time to see them conquering cycling. And regions like China/Arabia just have the money for that...
