Interlagos GP
The Interlagos GP goes into it's second edition, making it's mark as pretty unique race on the schedule. The party hilly, partly flat F1 circuit is surely one of the most challenging flat classics and should make for another hard to predict race this year.
Sprinters had a hard time last season, when top-favorites like Napolitano and Ciolek were denied a victory with a group of nine escapees fooling the bunch: Jan Dieteren as the first winner of this event then. Surely, a lot of managers did remember this fail from the big guns..
The Startlist
The Favorites Sprinter | HI | SPR | ACC | Puncheurs | HI | SPR | ACC | Haussler | 70 | 80 | 76 | Dowsett | 80 | 66 | 71 | Van der Sande | 70 | 79 | 79 | Betancourt | 79 | 67 | 74 | Vesely | 68 | 79 | 80 | Landa | 78 | 61 | 69 | Boeckmans | 67 | 79 | 81 | Efimkin | 78 | 58 | 57 | Bennett | 63 | 79 | 79 | Zeits | 77 | 64 | 71 | Farrar | 62 | 79 | 77 | Hategeka | 77 | 62 | 66 | Colbrelli | 61 | 79 | 75 | Vichot | 76 | 66 | 80 | Manarelli | 59 | 79 | 79 | Haavardsholm | 75 | 69 | 80 | Hoffman | 68 | 78 | 78 | Der | 75 | 68 | 70 | Avila | 66 | 78 | 77 | Amanuel | 75 | 67 | 71 | Rizza | 63 | 78 | 73 | Wang | 75 | 64 | 72 | Sobota | 60 | 78 | 78 | Wallays | 75 | 64 | 69 | Manan | 60 | 78 | 78 | Dieteren | 75 | 63 | 65 | Ventoso | 75 | 77 | 76 | Kolobnev | 75 | 62 | 66 | Mansilla | 71 | 77 | 78 | Puusepp | 75 | 61 | 68 |
It's definitely quite notable, that we do have just one 80+ sprinter here: Haussler as the favorite, combining both climbing and sprint the best here. Also Van der Sande and of course Ventoso or Mansilla will fancy their chances in this tricky race.
Vesely, Boeckmans, Hoffman or Avila may be considered stronger than Bennett, Farrar or Colbrelli.. Looks like a nice opportunity for Becherovka to make an impact as a ProTour-team here.
In addition to those sprinters, we see quite a bunch of strong puncheurs going for a gamble: Dowsett, Betancourt, Landa and Efimkin as the strongest (rated) amongst those, who may hope to go clear from the sprinters. We've already seen such races producing surprising winners, so basically anything can happen, it seems.

This might be an interesting one for us. But would be very surprised if Landa actaully did something decent after the way he has performed this year. But there's hoping..
Have the feeling that Betancur will take the glory here.

Call me crazy, but we have a goal here. Top 5 it is.
Mansilla has shown he can get top 5s in such a race, will he be hampered by Manarelli starting though? Can he do a good sprint? Will the race even end in a sprint or will that early break take it? Puncheurs won't do jack here.
So many questions. So much luck needed. Fingers crossed. |

Argh, why isn't Impey here? Should mean Dutch Food Valley Classic has a packed start list. Anyway, sent a weak team so we will be hoping a break takes it. I think Njoroge got a good finish here last year from the break. |

I still remember when Dall'Antonia won The Emerald Race. A tougher profile than this. But this is PCM14. So he'll do fuck all. |

Very good leadership opportunity here for Van der Sande with not the strongest of fields. Hope to see Amanuel, Dowsett and Lagab involved in a strong, albeit not-so fast, leadout train - with all my pure sprinters off supporting Van Heerden in the Netherlands.
Main thing is to catch the break this year!

Don't know why he isn't here with the tougher profile here. Oh well, hopefully do well in the Netherlands.

Well that was in the CT, slightly tougher startlist here so I doubt you can blame PCM |

Glad to see this one isn't stacked and the Dutch Food Valley thing probably will be. I certainly will be aiming to find some points in this race. Just hoping the bumps aren't too much.

Should be a really good oppurtunity for a good result for Vesely! The startlist looks not so stacked as it could be!

Hoping to join the break or that the bumps or something are enough for Zeits or Der to attack, otherwise hoping for a good sprint from Sobota.

So Becherovka not only dominating the PT, they also have chances to win HC now.
Great team, Roman. |

This would've been absolutely perfect for Demare&Felline, and the clash wouldn't have mattered at all with Ciolek in the Netherlands then, but I didn't like the band and went for the mountain band 3 instead.
In hindsight, don't ask me why.

Suparman should always win this, a break has huge chances of making it, and he's been aggressive so far...
Vaitkus and Efimkin are my real leaders here, both needing a later attack to win, which may be possible, but it's a gamble in what is just a filler race in our HC season.

Hopefully if it does come down to a sprint then Manan can be up there and in the mix, though it would be nice to get someone in the break incase it does go all the way again like it did last year.

One of our few home continent outings this season - hopefully brings us some luck. Minor options on all scenarios, although not a front-line contender in any situation so could altenratively end in complete anonymity hidden in the outer regions of the bunch all day. Lets hope not.

Really surprised that Impey is not here. It's like the perfect race for him.
Quite good memories I have from this race when last year Bostner surprised me and took the 4th slipping into the morning break.
We come here with the Ventoso/Betancourt tandem. Both have good changes to score good points either if the race goes to the sprint or the puncheurs give it a go. If it's a BA who takes it I hope to see Bostner again in there
Good luck!
