Hey, I'm back with a new PCMdaily members DB, this time for PCM 15.
This year I did it along with Matt17br, and it will be bigger and better than ever.
What is the Members DB?
As simple as it sounds, it is a database full of PCMdaily members.
The riders will be named like PCMdaily users, and will have the same nationalities and avatars.
Note that real birthdates will not be used, they will defined through a formula(and everyone will have their birthday at 31 December )
Rider names will most likely be ''. *username*'' because the game cannot handle riders without a first name, it seems. So SportingNonsense will be called ''. SportingNonsense'' in the database and will be 83MO and 77TT.
The database will be based on the officialrelease.cdb, so that it will be compatible to every single database, so every PCMdaily member with PCM 15 can enjoy this database.
Teams:
Obviously we will not use the real WT teams for this database.
Instead we take some of the finest shirts made in the community and use them for the teams.
The teams will again be region based(with the exception of 1 team that you'll figure out at some point), but won't exactly be national teams, rather something in between of that.
Calendar
Also the calendar will be re-done a lot. A lot of PCMdaily related races will come in the place of normal races.
For instance, there will be 3 new GTs: Volta ao Cafe Pedro, Tour of the MG and Dailystan Grand Tour. But beside that, there will be lots of other new races, we have already found 20 new races to include.
Those races are all made by the community and are all fantasy. We'll make sure that there will be a lot of new cool stages to play.
Your calendar will be way more fun.
Riders/Stats
There will be (at least) 625 riders in the database, the 624 members with the most posts(as of 22 July) will be in the database. It required 145 posts, leaving ventoux in and birch23 out.
However there is another way to get into the database, more about that later.
Stats are 99% fictional and completely redone. This year the stat matrix is much higher and we've tried to make the gameplay as open as possible, with multiple riders contending for every GC and stage win.
Just like last year, the stats are roughly based on post count. The higher the post count, the more chance you have good stats. However, I'd like to emphasize this is on average. The 380th in post count can still be better than the 210th in post count, however, the chances on this are pretty small.
Just don't be surprised if you're the 210th in post count and you are the 230th best rider of the DB, obviously I'm not going to make that all linear. Not only it would be boring, but also impossible for me to do.
Activity in the past year also was taken into account a bit. However this does not apply to ''forum legends'' who left the site, after f.e a row with a Czech/Slowakian member around the cobbled classics
Note that people with less posts will on average have more potential and will be younger than top posters. This to ensure that everyone theoretically has a good chance to become a good rider.
Don't blame me if you're still low potential though, I only design the formula, and assigning this is done for me, not by me.
Getting back on the 99% fictional thing, there is indeed a few exceptions. Some real life performances just have to be rewarded. For instance Strydz has performed a few amazing ''Everesting'' attempts and he will therefore have the best stamina in the database despite being 97th in the post count list .
If you really really want a specific specialisation, you could post in the thread and ask me for one, but note that most stats are already done and it could take a lot of work for me to change 1 specialisation, considering balancing issues.
It would even be possible that you'd end up worse in your main stats if you request a specific specialisation, considering we can't have 100 77+ climbers, for example
Also, posting in this thread once and showing interest in the project could actually help improving your stats a bit.
Note that spamming does not help.
Asking for screens of your stats would be too early right now, the stats will surely still change a bit from now on.
Wildcards
As I mentioned above there is still the opportunity to join the DB if you have less than 145 posts.
You can join the DB by applying for a wildcard!
You will be a young rider with (on average) high potential in a CT team. This CT team(or CT teams) will be as strong as some of the weaker Pro Continental teams and will therefore still be competitive.
DW48, the owner of PCMdaily.com, will join them.
To apply for a wildcard, fill in this very long form: Username: Country: Specialisation:
Country should be your own country, not a fantasy one.
Keep in mind that form is only for wildcards, not for all members already in the database to fill this in.
We hope to fill up at least 1 and hopefully 2 Continental teams, so if you're not in the DB yet, please don't hestitate, and apply for a wildcard
There is still plenty of time.
Release
Even though we've developed this database a bit for a while now, it will still take some time before release, don't expect it within the first 2 weeks. We want to make this as perfect as possible.
I will be on holiday for a week as well, slowing down the process.

Well, Jes, you will take all of members on PCMDaily? Or you will take members that are writing here, because I would like to be in this DB too, maybe, as one of 2-3 Russians here)
If yes, I would like to be a Stage racer, with MO, HILL and TT, the others doesnt matter.

You are in the database, as you have more than 140 posts.
Looking forward to playing this. Had 77 mountain last time I think, so hopefully I get an upgrade

Also, real avatars sounds cool but a lot of work Do members without avatars have the default picture or the awesome standard avatar we had for a few days?
Thanks for making this though.

They have the awesome standard avatar we had for a few days, but there's not really much difference with the pcm default one really
