The Rider

A pan flat sprinter's classic taking place in Belarus. You won't see a better sprinting line up at CT level this season, or perhaps ever! pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png BelarusBank Pro Cycling will be the home favourites, will their unpredictable armada take the win?

The Favourites:

FlatSprintAcceleration
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Daniel Thorsen618285
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/san.png Maximiliano Richeze738079
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/alp.png Juan Pablo Forero718075
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fab.png Anthony Lavoine738078
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fwt.png Cameron Meyer728076
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/npn.png Aleksandr Serebriakov748077
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Claudio Corioni737975
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/otp.png Luka Mezgec717977
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Kevin Peeters727977
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ice.png Michael Vanderaerden727975
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fab.png Mathieu Drujon737878
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Moreno Moser707877
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/san.png Rafael Andriato717876
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/lpu.png Matteo Pelucchi747877
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Yauheni Hutarovich717880

The crazy thing is, the above list isn't even all of the sprinters who might feature. Also present: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Kankovský, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ioc.png Abdallah, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Clarke, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/aks.png Uugunbayar, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/dek.png Westling and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sod.png Thire.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Daniel Thorsen has already showed this season he can win races, his lead-out has also shown to the fore. However, he is yet to win against the very best in the division can he topple for more consistent riders, such as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/npn.png Aleksandr Serebriakov, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/san.png Maximiliano Richeze and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fab.png Anthony Lavoine? These three riders each have a quality lead-out, in theory. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Yauheni Hutarovich is the only Belarussian who has a good chance for the win, will be even be riding for himself?

After pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/cpl.png Matthews, who isn't racing here, won the GP Tokyo this is a great chance for the division's top riders bounce back and show themselves. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png De Backer really animated the GP Tokyo for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Strava, will the same situation be on the cards here, or will the CT rankings' leaders be content to wait for the sprint?

The Wildcards:

FlatFighter
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Daniele Ratto7955
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/bbk.png Yannick Stoltz7885
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/gen.png Fabien Taillefour7759
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Taylor Tolleson7672
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fxg.png Gert Steegmans7669
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/npn.png Vyacheslav Kuznetsov7676
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/sva.png Ermin Van Wyk7667
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/chi.png Mauro Santambrogio7578
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fab.png Juraj Sagan7574

Pan flat, this race sure is. However, will the rouleurs fight out the win? The above list shows some of the most likely attackers.

With 72 points on offer for the winner this is a massive race for the CT elite sprinters in this C2HC race.

Good memories here with Goss winning last year. Curious who will follow on him now.

Maybe the reigning B World champ? Would make sense in a way. I doubt Thorsen will take it.

Putting my hopes on a late attack by either Tolleson or Santambrogio, but I'd be happy with a top-20 here! Grin

Peeters and Pelucchi for a podium again? Though Peeters will probably drop somewhere and Pelucchi will be too far back to start his sprint. Let's say top 5 is the goal Smile
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Good potential to win our first race here, however I don't like seeing the game having Drujon as the leader, could be our downfall in this race.

Ugh crazy strong startlist, which is to be expected given that it's a flat classic and the strength of sprinting in the CT this year. As long as Forero doesn't screw up again I'll be happy - a top 5 a realistic goal.

Hoping for a top 5 with Luka, not much else to say Smile

Somehow I thought that race was going to be hilly but hey, I sent the right kind of riders here. Hope GP Tokyo will lead as a prime example and the team follows that motivation in Zimnyanya GP.

We'll be here watching our main sprint rivals. Will be a good battle!

Meh, the field is much better than expected here Frown Was hoping for a top 5 but I doubt that it will happen after seeing the startlist.

Thorsen proved he can actually hang on the group and eventually win so he's definitely the favourite here.

Ratto, well, as ever I'm hoping he can attack in the last 10 kms and actually do something. But I guess that 55 ftr is his main problem.

Thanks for the preview, The Rider.

The many attacks meant not many had energy to lead out. Sadly we once again miss the podium by 1.

Lavoine was simply too far back and 4th will have to suffice :/ Gratz to Novatek for a strong sprint Smile

140 Kevin Peeters
Never fails to disappoint, does he? Pelucchi did ok with 6th, but how hard is it to form a sprint train for once?

Thanks for the report though!

Hells yeah top 5 Smile.

Thanks for the excellent report The Rider

Way to go and kick off April, Corioni. He is still good in those one-day flat classics, second time coming 2nd after Ocean Road Classic. Though it's a shame he got so narrowly defeated; seeing as how close contested this field is, I have to be satisfied. A win by him will come around eventually, otherwise we may just be called 2trava for now.

De Backer in his usual 14th place getting some points as well.

Thanks for the report, intense sprint was that!

Gratz to Novatek!
