Looks like a pretty tough finish and some hills along the way, I think the alrounders (degenkolb,sagan and Kristoff) will have more chance than the pure sprinters like cav/greipel/Bouhanni... |

Not only is it hilly, a large part of the stage they ride in coastal area's close to the sea.. So echelons are a possibility if there is enough wind |

Stage finish with that bend 450 metres out suits Cavendish and his leadout man in Renshaw perfectly so i'm tipping Cav.
Interestingly (or maybe not) Stage 5 has been Cav's first stage win of the tour on 3 occasions in 2013, 2011 & 2008

Just one further remark on Pinot; as I said in thread for todays stage, he seems to be all to easily thrown out of his saddle (pun so very much intended) by things he cannot control. He isn't the first rider to suffer a mechanical/puncture, and it's not like he has been plagued by misfortune every second of this Tour either.
I don't know what happened, but yelling, gesticulating at mechanics, and looking like you're the only rider to ever experience misfortune isn't the hallmark of a champion.
Like I said earlier, I don't know how he normally acts, but to me he seems to be way too easily influenced by things he in no way can control. A true champion is able to focus on those things he can actually do something about, for example trying to get back and limit your losses instead of pouting like a child.
Perhaps he needs a damn good whacking.

I think this is more panic, which isn't good for a champion, yes, and it won't help you. But when a rider has misfortune after months of hard training, sometimes they just panic or get angry.
and other champions have done it, remember when Wiggins threw his bike in the Giro time trial.

Pinot has the talent but he doesn't have the mentality to win a big tour, something that seems to affect every French rider. They're good at exploding onto the scene and then get hyped up and then always fail to deliver. Also the pressure to win the Tour is huge and for that reason they're probably better off trying to win a Vuelta or Giro.
I think Cyanide are aware of this as well, because ever since I've been playing this game I can't ever remember seeing Rolland winning a single stage or race in the game.

Oh yes, Cyanide is a pro in this.
Even when I had Pinot at 85 MO in a savegame, he never managed to win the Tour. He did win a Giro, though |

It's not the riders fault that they are hyped up, it's the French media/public that are desperate for Tour contender so every French talent is built up into something they are not. Rolland is a good example as to me he never looked like a true GT contender but more of a lower half top 10 rider and stage winner but he was overhyped and is now seen as a disappointment but to me he is performing to the capacities of his talents. Pinot is more talented than Rolland but has still been hyped up to much which must be a huge pressure on a young rider, he spat the dummy yesterday but that is not uncommen for young riders so hopefully he can learn from this Tour expericence and work on moving past the issues he has, I don't think calling him mentally weak as some have is right wording to use, he is emotional and also honest when asked about why he falls short but that's not mental weakness it's just traits of his personality, he will improve in this as he matures and hopefully people can lay off him a little and let him do this. I think being in a diffrerent environment than a French team like FDJ might be a good idea

This does not seem so much difficult to drop likes of Greipel and Cavendish i would say, so i see those two together with Degenkolb and Sagan as the favourites. Lets see if Kristoff can bounce back from being mediocre and unlucky in first stages.
