Hey guys, it would be cool if someone could explain here the new progression system.
I am close to Giro in My career with Astana and Nibali just dropped about 2-3 stats everywhere, same happend with scarponi and Bozic, even though tehy had good results and 5 star trainer relationships.
In the other Teams there are already riders who had a big increas (eg wellens to 81 hil)
after studying pcm homepage i am still confused how development works,
thaks already for replies

I haven't played a team career yet.. but unless a rider is at his age_decline (set in db), they really shouldn't regress in stats. I think it's a bug or mistake. |

I am not 100% sure either, but I think that is different in PCM 15, a rider's stats are able to decrease if he doesn't get the right training or something.
Haven't checked this in detail, just a guess, considering I have seen riders going down sometimes and Cyanide seems to have done that on purpose.

usually this happens to riders above 34+, and there is the question, what can you do wrong in training, exept of applyingthe wrong trainer style? |

I know it can happen in Be a Pro. as a stage racer I set my training on baroudeur and my expected flat skill was minus one arrow.
Training on TT my expected flat skill was plus one arrow. |

A propos: what's going on in this new training system (team career mode)? In previous versions we sets proper training (stage races, puncher, sprinter, etc) corresponding to specific coach. Now is meaningful only training style? All what I have to do is to assign ground breaking to ground breaking, modern to modern?? All coaches can train all specialization?

seems to be like that, but in beginning of June there is still no progression of my widers, while some lost significantlly , even Nibali lost again something, so the confusion is still on |

That's not a proper answer. Nibali is not old enough to decline already, but as the progression is too fast he will get worse quicker.

Although I agree is too early for Nibali to decline (See valverde, rodriguez, contador) he's already 30 - not young - and maybe you got unlucky and the game randomly chose him to start declining now.
Disclaimer: didn't play career long enough to notice changes in stats. |

Same problem here. Even with the right training styles the big talents doesnt progress and the established riders declines, even though they're not reached declining age. |

Worrying that career mode has these issues whilst the Be a Pro thread is full of people moaning the progression is too fast.
You can add 5 points in 6 months there, but the same in career mode will be no change at all.
If it's the same algorithm in both it's a weird situation |

it is strange that the AI is progressing very fast in career, while you are left behind.
i have not played be a pro yet, but it seems to be , that tCYANIDE might got something wrong. Hopefully it is just a balancing issue , that is fixable |

Surprised this thread doesn't have more posts. Career mode is basically unplayable. Why spend hours on a season when you don't have the incentive of seeing young riders progress? |

you are absolutly right , i am in august now and still exept of one rider who got +1 HIL (lutsenko) nothing happend
MAYBE , you have to put the Progression speed to 1 , to get something out from young riders, but sadly the older ones would decrease extremly fast..........
it is a bit of a game breaker |

IMO, you can't change progression speed. I opened a thread about fixing it via the editor here yesterday, wondering where it has gone... |

Anyone has played a longer career, let's say reaching at least 2nd season already? Is the progression really that bad? |

There are definitely issues. Hesjedal lost 2 mtn within the first week, with a trainer he has 5 stars with. And his age of decline is 35 and he's 34.
That's believable enough, but then Talansky has lost a mountain and 2 hill with a training who he has 5 stars with and has excellent effectiveness. He's 26 years old! Something is wrong there.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Yes, old riders on the user's own team decline way too fast and early and young riders have a really hard time getting their stats up. I am still testing, but it is a pain in the ass, since you can't just simulate an entire season. What I can say though is, that progression has slowed down massively. |

Hesjedal will be 35 by the end of 2015, so maybe the game doesn't include day and month of birth with the age of the decline, but year only?
I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to buy PCM2015 or not. So I would like to look at the bigger picture if the progression system is flawed, or not. I see nothing wrong with 26 years old losing a point here or there. But it's important to see the progress of bigger group of riders over longer time. If most of riders at this age tend to deteriotate their skills, then something is wrong. But if these cases are rather rare and happen to computer teams also, or skills just fluctuate long-term, then it's quite realistic. There were some guys in the past that looked very good at the young age but got significantly worse when they hit what was supposed to be their prime years, like Andy Schleck or Gesink. That's why I would like to see some comments from people who are at least in 2nd season of their career. But most of players seem to enjoy the "Be a pro" mode rather than standard career mode as far as I can see. |
