Clasico San Cristobal
A race going into it's third edition, the Clasico San Cristobal will kick off the CT-team's (very own) schedule. A hilly parcours featuring five laps with two climbs each. The uphill finish ain't exactly long, but quite steep.
Defending champion Philip Gaimon (In-n-Out) will be at the start again, aiming to repeat his victory from last year. The competition is strong though, as many teams brought their best puncheurs to this C2 event: starting the season with a bang as the obvious goal for a lot of managers here!
The Startlist
The Favorites Rider | Hill | Rider | Hill | Jose Mendes | 78 | Mauro Finetto | 74 | Gracjan Lejman | 77 | Kamil Zielinski | 74 | Jukka Vastaranta | 76 | Caleb Fairly | 74 | Janier Alexis Acevedo | 76 | Mauricio Soler | 74 | Patrik Sinkewitz | 76 | Bjorn Selander | 74 | Frantisek Rabon | 76 | Andoni Blazquez | 74 | Alberigo Passalacqua | 76 | Joey Rosskopf | 74 | Rudy Molard | 75 | Ingvar Omarsson | 74 | Phillip Gaimon | 75 | Jiri Hudecek | 74 | Mikaël Chérel | 75 | Timothy Duggan | 74 | Zsolt Der | 75 | Dale Appleby | 74 | Alexis Gougeard | 75 | Michael Mørkøv | 74 | Adam Stachowiak | 75 | Brice Feillu | 74 | Kristijan Durasek | 75 | Markus Fahnert | 74 | Sergio Godoy | 75 | Gabriel Juarez | 74 | Félix Emilio Besada | 75 | | |
Mendes with his first appearance and the clear mission to go for a stronger result than his 7th place here in 2014. He surely has the skills to take out any hilly classic in the CT and anything but a podium would be a disappointing showing.. Also Lejman (4th last season) will aim for the podium at least.
Several more real threats for the victory though: Vastaranta, Sinkewitz, Rabon, Acevedo and Passalacqua with a slight "stat advantage" over guys like last year's winner Gaimon, Durasek, Godoy or Besada.. we've also a few dangerous duos in Chérel/Gougeard, Der/Stachowiak(/Sinkewitz), Molard(/Passalacqua)!
Outsider chances only for the likes of Selander/Duggan, Fairly, Omarsson or Appleby and Juarez. It should be an interesting opener with so many teams lining up with just more than one option here!

We have to wait a few days for our first race, but these opening classics will be interesting anyhow

I would very much enjoy a top 10 from this.
Also, season starting! *get's ready for rage*

Hopefully we can win this. but since I didn't bring Zeits, maybe a top five or podium would be nice.

The season is under way! Rooting for someone like Sinkewitz.
In general this race seems to fit a puncheur with some mountain stat, will be interesting to see

Yay, the first race. I immediately have some high expectations. Rabon is obviously leading here, and I think a top-5 is a safe expectation, possibly even a podium.

Wouldn't be surprised if the mountain stat played some role here. So don't underestimate guys like Acevedo, Sinkewitz, Godoy, Gaimon and Der.

Vastaranta's my shout here. I honestly doubt if Mendes can dominate the CT calendar again this year, with some good punchers behind him this year.
Cheering for Duggan here though.

This is haven't been exactly a huge succes for me in the past, but hopefully one of my older riders Kulhavi can have his say in the final.
My favourite is probably Vastaranta, doubt Mendes will be able to break free solo.

Really looking forward to seeing what my strongest hill-squad can do. Vastaranta supported by Cioban on hill 75 and CAS and Sarabia on 74.

With the team i have, a top 20 should be satisfying for Kulhavy ans who knows, the breakaway could reach the finish first with a greek inside

Strong hilly riders present here, we couldn't have got a very good result with our riders anyway I guess, so it's okay not to be here.
Thanks for a great preview!

I think this is the most ambitious objective I set for the year, hoping that Passalacqua will do well against people like Mendes and Lejman
Thanks for the preview tsmoha!

Considering 3 Puma riders (well 2 plus Delage) will support Gaimon here, I'm obviously cheering for In-N-Out to repeat last year's performance.
Apart from that, I'm going out on a slight limb and say Godoy is this year's Beltran and will start to show that here, this division just needs a dominant/overperforming South American.
