I have come up with an idea for a new game (my first), so here it is:
How the game works:
The game starts off with everybody getting assigned a random team of 9 real riders, they also have a budget of 10000. At the start everybody can exchange riders if they wish, using both their budget and their riders, but every team must always have 9 riders.
Each week a race will take place on a random course and whoever has the rider that comes 21st is out of the game, however, over the following week their riders will be auctioned off, if somebody buys a rider, they will be able to exchange a rider for another rider on their team, the next week that rider will be auctioned as well as the riders from the losing team, any riders that do not get bought will be unused for the rest of the game.
At the end of the week (on Sunday), another race will take place to decide who goes out. The game continues until we have 3 teams left, where the team who has come closest to 21st without actually coming it (rules explained below) will win the game.
How a normal week works:
Day 1 (Monday):
Riders up for auction are announced (see below for how auctions work) and auctions begin.
Day 2 (Tuesday):
Auctions continue.
Day 3 (Wednesday):
The race route is announced and some auctions will be finished by then.
Day 4 (Thursday):
The winner of the blind auction (see below), is announced.
Day 5 (Friday):
All auctions finish and teams must be confirmed, or they will be randomly selected.
On day 6 nothing happens (well the races are simulated but you don't need to do anything).
Day 7 (Sunday):
The race is run and a team goes out.
Auctions:
Every week, the riders from the team that goes out, are auctioned off, as well as any riders dropped from a team the previous week. Every auction will be announced on Day 1 and the starting bid is 500, you must raise every bid by a minimum of 50. Somebody must have the highest bid for 24 hours to win the auction. If it reaches day 5 and we still do not have a winner, there will be a buyout price which is 200 more than the current bid. but the final bidder has to pay 25% of that price if they don't accept. After that, anybody can pay the stated price (200+the final bid) for that rider and the first to do so gets the rider, if nobody does by the end of day 5, nobody gets the rider. If you win an auction, you must remove one rider from your team, to be replaced by the new rider, if this is not done so by the end of Day 5, a random rider will be chosen.
As well as the riders who have been dropped from a team, I may pick a rider who is either not on a team or is out of the game and also put him up for auction one round, he may even be the blind auction (see below).
Blind Auctions:
One auction every week will be a blind auction, bidders must pm me their bid and the person with the highest bid on day 4, wins a special prize as well as the rider, Such as being able to pick where what position makes you out of the game for the next round.
More will come on that later...
Other Rules:
The winner of every stage receives 500.
Remember, the team who's rider comes 21st is out of the game.
When there are 3 teams left, the winner is decided by whoever finished closest to 21 the most times (so the first decider is how many times did your riders finish 20th or 22nd, then 19th and 23rd, 18th and 24th, etc. until one team has got higher number of those positions). If the number where a team goes out changes, the numbers for that round are closest to that, for example; if for 1 round the rider who comes 47th goes out, then for that one round, 46th and 48 are equivalent to 20th and 22nd.
Your starting budget is 10000
If somebody breaks a rule, they will generally get a warning or a financial punishment, however if somebody cheats multiple times, (which is hard to do in this game) they will be removed from the game.
Occasionally a rule may be changed specifically for one round, for example we may have a round where the race winner get 1000 instead of 500 or second place wins the money, or all the riders are half price for the auctions. More to come on this later...
I have the final say in all decisions.
More to come...
Sign-Up
If you wish to sign-up fill in this form:
Team Name:
Nationality
9 riders with an average 70+:
Jersey:
* The riders you select are put into a random draw for which team gets them, so you are unlikely to get them, this is also based on the pcm14 expansion pack and if two riders are picked by the same team, I will ask one team to re-choose.
** You can pick any jersey you want, but you may just select a pro-team's jersey if you wish.
*** Just to stop any people telling me that it's unfair if somebody gets all the 80 av riders or all the 70 av riders, you go out if you come 21st, as well as that, every route is different and somebody may win the right to change the number that people go out on.
**** Also, the route is selected randomly on no basis, so Nibali may never come 21st on a Mountain stage, but he might on a cobbled stage (his cobble is good enough for that).
On a side note, if anybody wishes to help out, I may need some help doing race reports. I can do it alone, but it would make it easier (and the race reports will be more in-depth).

Would be great if you join.
Sign-ups will go for 2 weeks, or 3 if we need more people, than I'll have a few days to a week to edit the database, so it won't start next week.
Team Name: Team Tekkers
Riders: Mark Renshaw, Simon Gerrans, Cadel Evans, Tejay van Garderen, Taylor Phinney, Davide Appollonio, Romain Bardet, Fabio Duarte, Janier Acevedo
Hooray first person to join, I'll update my post with a list of riders so people don't copy riders. I've decided that the first five people to join will be definite.
If a lot of people are trying to join after that, I'll take the order of submission into account but it won't necessarily by decisive, but it will be important on who gets in (kind-of just dreaming there).

Now that we've got some interest, I'm going to stop confirming teams for a bit and make some decisions later today. People who join earlier will get a bit more consideration though.
Also, it would be good if everybody could select a nationality,
I assume that the current teams will be this:
but if anybody wants something different they can change. I am going to set them as this for now though, so just tell me if you want something else.
Team Tekkers: Australia
Kiwis: New Zealand
Team Petronas-HTC: Germany???

You really really really really need to change the rules regarding teams... just look at HTC for an example of why this is an unfinished idea (bastadt beat me to the punch on how to break the game)
Yeah but teams are randomised, you submit a list of riders, then I put them into a randomiser to give them out randomly to everybody, and remember you just have to not finish 21st, 80 rated riders are likely to finish around there on different (not preferred) terrain.

And on the basis the riders are given out using a random draw here's probably the worst avg69 riders (or at least the oldest with no 70 stats)
Riders: Vergilio Santos, Frederic Amorison, Christian Poos, Maros Kavoc, Kevin Hulsmans, Olegs Melehs, Laurent Mangel, Martin Hebik, Ian Wilkinson
1. You need a jersey.
2. You need a nationality.
3. 70 is the minimum average
4. If you are doing this because you do not like the game, it actually helps to have some bad riders in there. (it adds some strategy in picking bad riders, but then somebody can make last the losing position)
5. If you are doing it because it no longer has a flaw, then thank you.
Once your team compiles with the first 3 steps I'll add it to my list of teams for consideration.
