Hello people  As i scrapped the Cycling project i returned to the drawing board as promised. This thread will kickstart a series of posts where i gather feedback on various interface topics
Purpose of these "experiments and demos" are solely to improve our design at DarkShift Studios and to increase the quality of interfaces build with our game engine.
When it comes to these kind of tests you dont need to write explanations just pick 1 or 2 you like and let me know

Any interface needs a color theme and style

I like button 7 the most...i think it would be better, if you would just build a plaqyable game, and update some stuff like this, time after time.

Buttons 4,6&7 are my favourites. Although the only one I don't like is 3.
Spoiler The reason why is that I prefer a subtle design, especially in HUD's, though it has to match the art style of the game and I tend to prefer using a darker skin option if there is one in games like Football Manager.

6 would be best without the pattern on it. Simplicity is best imo, and a pattern makes it busier looking.

Test 2:
Seems most people like Button 7 and the clean dark style. Lets continue with two common interface elements: the radio button and the checkbox.
which ones has the better color theme?

Definitely button 6 and the 1 from the other I like the black / blue theme you got, so I just think you should stick with that Normally two colours are enough, as more will just make the site look confusing

Out of context it's very hard to give a realistic answer. Truthfull they all look fine, obviously, and any difference is minor personal preferences for colors. (that applies to both tests) You're asking me to pick between a rose, white and red wine for dinner without telling me what constitutes the main course. I can pick something nice but without the wider knowledge of the context it's very easy to end up with the wrong end product
