Buy or no buy?
Ollfardh
So, I'm still enjoying my PCM11 still, Rabobank career at the moment. I was planning to buy PCM13 last year, but decided not to because of all the bugs. So how is PCM14 then?

Most of all, I think I'm looking for good gameplay/AI and a good career mode, so your opinion on those would be appricated. If there are major bugs that need to be fixed in an upcoming patch, I think I'll wait till a later patch before buying as well.

Thanks.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not now, for sure. Game is full of bugs and bad gameplay issues, so i would wait till late summer/autumn if i was you, to ask again, if Cyanide adressed that.

But now? Game is unplayble in career and sprints are messed up, while majority of silly PCM13 gameplay was not removed. If you are enyjoing PCM11, which is for me the best game in the series, no need to change really.
I'll be back

No, not yet at least. Tons of bugs, so the best option is to wait for patches and see if they actually fix something.

Gameplay/AI is good in my experience, career is not even close to being good.

wait until the transfer bug and the 2 stages crash bugs are fixed

No, wait until patches

Well, I wasn't going to buy it at all, but now Tony Martin signed for Rabobank development team, I might reconsider. But not just yet then, thanks all Wink

Why does EVERY new release of PCM have major issues?
Would like to get 14 but not if it has problems.
Shouldn't have to pay for a game that is flawed and the wait for patches that might fix issues. Not really good enough.

Lachi
You could just ask: Why does every new game, which was released on the last 20 years have major issues?
I already explained why: Stupid people buy the game on release day + stupid publisher is happy with money coming in.

Ollfardh
But PCM releases are closer to a beta test period then other games. I find it hard to believe some of the bugs people talk about went unnoticed until it was too late to fix it before the release.

Yeah, indeed Ollfardh. I wonder how these beta-testers (even the guys from Cyanide, they're not retarded) didn't notice at least these obvious career bugs (riders staying without team, low salaries). I really do.

Oh and if beta testers found the bugs, but Cyanide couldn't manage (or didn't want) to solve them, it's another story.

Do you actually know how beta testing works? All the processes behind the scenes?

It seems not otherwise I simply can't understand the laughable suggestion.

You might think it's beta tester -> bug -> immediately fixed but it isn't as simple as that.

No, but the point is to fix the bug before the release date. Either they aren't putting a beta version out soon enough for it to be effective, or they don't really beta test the game (personally I don't think they actually do a beta test).

An easy solution that would solve many problems, mainly the horrible reputation this gives Cyanide. After releasing the game, have a readily available bugs list. At least that way users know that you are aware of the problems and working on fixing them.

Of course they do beta tests. But tests are done to find bugs, not to fix them.

Nobody will ever release a list of bugs, which are in the released game. I am pretty sure that the publishers legally forbid it.

I seem to be really lucky with the new game, i have very few problem with the career game play. Everything works almost flawless, though i am not sure what i think about the new freshness model. But beside that i really love the game.

For the first time in 5 years I will wait to buy the game.

I also want to change my computer, my old GT 230 will have problems to handle the graphics, and may be in october I could bring from the US a new graphic card cheaper than here in Uruguay.

How about the sprints and the sprint train? Do they also work flawlessly? What about the career in year 2 and 3 when the AI teams don't sign any riders? You don't have that kind of problem?

Don't forget the 31 December 2015 R&D Equipment Bug which makes it impossible to get past that date Rolling Eyes

So now with the new patch 1.2.0.0 out is the game worth buying or is there still to many bugs (i would probably use the most time in career mode)? From what I understand there is still the awful fonts and the mess in 3D races, with the sprint train. But how big an influence do you (who is playing the game) think it is?

Lachi
It took a while to find all the bugs and problems, therefore you cannot expect a complete answer two days after the release of the patch.

But if you will buy the game anyway, then there is no need to wait any longer.
