I have decided to run a story following the career of the my two favourite riders in the pro peloton right now. The Yates Brothers! After a successful season in 2013 the Brothers have had to move teams, due to the disbandment of the Netapp Endura Team at the end of the season. Having ridden their first ever grand tour , the Giro, both brothers enjoyed stints in the King of the Mountains Jersey, with Adam securing victory in the classification ahead of Chris Froome. in 2014 the Yates have continued to show their promise as riders of the future with Simon taking his two biggest wins to date in Amstel Gol and Flèche Wallone to confirm his status as the new kid on the block.
Seasons
2013 - Learning the Ropes
The Yates Brothers turned pro in 2013 with Team Netapp Endura, and after a successful season hat saw Adam win the King of the Mountains jersey in the Giro d'Italia, and Simon win a stage of the Vuelta, as well as the Tour of Britain. However the Yates first season ended, with them moving teams after the disbandment of Team Netapp, after the Withdrawl of the sponsor.
2014 - Climbing The Food Chain
In 2014 The Yates Brothers joined Team Cannondale, along with their teamate Mikel Nieve and Team Sky's Chris Froome and Richie Porte. The early season saw success for both brothers with Simon winning the Tour Down Under, Flèche Wallone and Amstel Gold, to show he is an up am coming puncher, however Adam was just as successful as Simon in the early season with him winning the Tour of Oman, and placing in the top 10 in both Paris Nice and the Tour of Catalunya, to show the world his potential as a stage race rider. After a rule change, the brothers joined new World Tour team, Leopard Trek for the remainder of the season, in the hope of finding success at the Vuelta and World Championships.
2015 - The Knockout Blow?
After Adam's Vuelta victory and Simon's double Ardenne Classics triumph, the brothers have proved they have talent, but can they win big races consistently? The Yates start their year at the National Championships in Cumbria on a course that appears built for the twins.

Interview with Adam Yates.
Adam Yates is the new kid on the block who along with brother Simon are the next great talents to come out of the UK. Although Adam didn't do it the typical way now of coming through the BC System, he did it the 'hard' way by racing for a french amateur team and hoping that he would be able to impress a pro team.
So Adam what's it like achieving what you have, by doing it your own way?
Well I really enjoyed it because I learned a new culture, and the racing on the continent is so different to races in the UK. I mean I could of made it easier for myself, but what's the fun in that.
Which races do you prefer the UK or France?
Well I think the obvious choice for my sort of rider is France, because the races are generally stage races, and thats better for m,e as I'm not the best at one day races, as I get stronger the longer the race is.
What's different about racing in France?
Well the races are longer, and there on open roads, where as a lot of racing in the UK is criterium based which I don't find as exciting because there is little if not no variation to the terrain.
Through the winter do you prefer to do Track or long winter Rides?
Definitely Track as it provides you with a great base going onto the road, but also the sessions are more intense. However as a pro I need to do more miles as the races are so much longer than the amateur races.
What do you want from this season?
Well really this year is just all about gaining experience. I'd love to ride a Grand Tour as they are so different to any other races, and I think that I will thrive in a 3 week long race. I mean the Tour of Britain will always be an aim for me as it's a great chance to ride on British roads, and especially with a summit finish this year. Although I've just got to do what the boss tells me, although I think that riding for a pro team with Simon will be a great experience and I can't wait

In a change to the calendar, British Cycling have decided to hold the national championships at the start of each year, with this years race to be held in cumbria with the race riding the same route as the Fred Whitton Challenge, but looping back to finish on the top of Honister Pass with its 25% gradients, it's sure to cause a shake up. The TT course will cover Whinlatter pass and Newlands Fell to finish in Buttermere at the bottom of Newlands Fell.
National Road Race
As I wasn't feeling to good today, I thought I'd try and get in the break so that I would be there in case Adam or Geraint needed me later in the race, but the bunch didn't want to chase and I built up a huge lead after the second climb I think I was something like 20 minutes up on the pack.
Simon Yates
Today was a really weird race, when Simon went up the road I was sure that someone would chase, but no one did. I mean Wiggins (Astana) came up to Geraint and asked if we wanted to chase, which was a really stupid question as Simon was up the road, but I'd of thought that Pete (Kennaugh) and Chris (Froome) would of had Sky riding on the front because they were the two red hot favourites, but they seemed to want an easy day.
Adam.
When Froome tried to go I managed to sit on his wheel, but I made sure not to do any work because by this time we had Simon way out in front and then Josh, Teo and Kristian in between. Froome seemed pretty keen to try and chad but I don't think he wanted to drag me across to Simon although it would of been hard as we were like 40 minutes down.
Adam
I'm absolutely over the moon, I can't believe I won today especially after feeling so bad this morning. I mean I thought I would be dropped on the first climb because I was in so much pain, as I had crashed earlier in the week while recceing the course. I was pretty bashed up, and I still have a lot of bruising on my chest as that's where I hit first. It's just such a great prize, and I can't believe it.
Simon
I must admit I was pretty emotional when Simon was up on the podium because he's worked so hard for this, and he deserves it so much. We made sure we rode the correct race and I think that we've showed the future is bright for British Cycling. To beat some of the riders that have won the tour in the past is pretty impressive. I'm just so proud of him and I can't wait to see him properly to congratulate him, as he's just a star.

National Time Trial.
Today was a really hard race as the climbs were pretty steep, I mean the race manual didn't really do them justice because they were a lot linger and steeper than it said in the book. I think my pacing was good but I didn't want to take any risks on the descent so I just tried to keep it cool.
Simon
I think I went out to hard today and my check times show, I mean I was leading at the first time check but by the end I'd just died and I couldn't push anymore although I suppose that's good because it only makes you stronger, and I know for next time I hav to be careful about my pacing.
Adam
Post Race Press Conference
You know I'm happy with third because it was my first proper time trial in the pro ranks, and I think to beat riders of the calibre that I have like the names I grew up reading about like Dave Miller and Brad Wiggins I'm happy, and I must admit a bit star struck. The team had another great day today as Geraint took the win, and we beat Sky in the team competition.

Netapp's New National Champion was out on the road yesterday, testing out his new British champions kit, What do you think?
Th team on behalf of all it's sponsors would like to congratulate Simon on what was an astounding ride in the Lake District. After all he is only 21, what a bright future he seems to have. Celebrate his victory with us on twitter. #GoSimon
Simon's next race will be at the Tour of San Luis where he will aim to help Netapp's new signings Gerain Thomas and Edvald Boasson Hagen deliver the bacon in the short stage race as they aim to prepare for the Giro.
