Spoiler
I decided to return to story writing and i decided to choose a team that can fight on several kinds of races. Hope it goes well and long!

Database: PCM.Daily Expansion Pack 2014 V1 (with my own updates)
Difficulty: Hard / Extreme
Evolution of Attributes: 0.3

Hello, my name is Jim Ochowitz and i am the General Manager of BMC Racing Team and i will be reporting you what our team is going to do in the world of cycling.

After we made a large investment in 2012 bringing Gilbert and Hushovd to an already strong teams our results were a bit disappointing. Last year we got 30 victories but only 5 on WT races. Our first general goal is to be more competitive on the World Tour both on Classics and Grand Tours.

Now i will introduce you to our team.

Team Captains

Philippe Gilbert
Tejay Van Garderen
Greg Van Avermaet

[img-l]https://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/kimiopn/BMC%202014/Intro/gilbert_zps6b42fe2f.jpg[/img-l]i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/kimiopn/BMC%202014/Intro/garderen_zpse15bd362.jpgi1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/kimiopn/BMC%202014/Intro/avermaet_zps953984f0.jpg

Our three leaders will be the guys with the responsibility to get the results on the stages we really need to be successful. Gilbert on the one day hilly races, Van Garderen will lead the team on the Tour and on important stage races and Van Avermaet will lead the team on the spring classics. With no really strong sprinter we hope they can give us success.

Protected Riders

Cadel Evans
Taylor Phinney
Thor Hushovd
Samuel Sanchez
Peter Velits
Daniel Oss

Our protected riders will lead the team in some races and on major ones they'll be working for our captains. We also expect them to give us victories.

Team Role Riders

John Darwin Atapuma
Dominik Nerz
Marcus Burghardt
Peter Stetina
Brent Bookwalker
Stephen Cummings
Yannick Eijssen
Ben Hermans
Klaas Lodewyck
Amael Moinard
Michael Schar
Steve Morabito
Danilo Wyss
Martin Kohler
Manuel Quinziato

We trust on these riders to get the support the leaders need, to get their own results on minor races and to show our shirts when they'll have the freedom to do it.

Young Talents

Rick Zabel
Silvan Dillier
Sebastian Lander
Larry Warbasse

Thinking about the future this four cyclists bring youth to our squad. They will learn with the most experienced riders and have a said when they'll have the opportunity to do it.

2014 Objectives

After the initial meeting taken place we have decided the goals for this season.

The Ardennes classics will be the first priority, trying to bring Gilbert back to the wins and with a strong team on his support. Winning there is essential to this project. On the late season Gilbert will also fight on Plouay, Canada and Lombardia.

The cobbles classics will be the another major goal with Greg Van Avermaet being the team leader and trying to challenge Cancellara and Quick Step.

On the main cyclist event of the season, Tour de France, we will take a strong team in support of Van Garderen. A place between the top 5 is an achievable goal and winning stages with our very best riders is the other objective.

Van Garderen will also challenge Paris-Nice, Tour de Romandie, Amgen Tour of California and Tour de Suisse. We expect him to win the american and swiss races and a podium in France.

Evans will lead the team in Giro and Sanchez on Vuelta, while both of them will also go to the Tour of France. We believe both of them can manage a top 5 result on GC.

There is already a very popular BMC story on Daily, so you may have some competition, but good luck anyway. Wink

Hmmm, not good news for first comment. I only checked on PCM 13 stories, didn't knew Kentaurus was writing a story on PCM 2012. But he is on his second season and i think both stories can exist at the same time. No competition needed, i'll just play and post for fun Wink

Good luck with this story. Wink Story writing isn´t a competition thing in my eyes, you really should enjoy that and have fun with it. Looking forward to this story and many great results. Smile

Great to see you back, Kimi! I enjoyed your CSC PCM12 story and I am pretty sure I'll enjoy this one even more. Smile

And I can agree with others, story-writing really isn't a competition, but something that everyone should enjoy doing. Wink

With the start of the season everyone is really excited about starting to race. So let me brief you about our first three months of racing.

The team will start the season in Australia with Tour Down Under but before that Cadel Evans will challenge the national championships.

We will only return in February for Tour of Qatar and Tour of Oman.

Our cobbles team will then go for the classics in Belgium where we will race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Kurne-Brussels-Kurne and Le Samyn.

In Spain we will race Clasica de Almeria and then Strade Bianche in Italy.

All this races will lead us to our first important goals of the season: Paris - Nice and Tirreno Adriatico.

With the new route on Milano-San Remo we will have a word to say and then we will fight for stage wins in Volta a Catalunya.

Finally the first trimester of 2014 will end in Belgium with Dwaaars Door Vlaanderen, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem and, of course, Ronde Van Vlaanderen.

Cadel Evans started the season on his homeland on the national championships. He will stay at Australia to lead the team on Tour Down Under.

Time Trial

With a lot of competition Evans didn't felt so good and he was just 11th and lost over a minute and a half to the new Australian TT champion, Richie Porte.

Road Race

Cadel was alone against a very powerful Orica where Gerrans was the natural leader. Richie Porte was also a favorite...

...and he tried with 17 km to get clear but several guys responded to his attack, including our own Aussie.

i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/kimiopn/BMC%202014/Australia/2porteattacks_zps8e09389a.jpg

With the group reduced to 6, Evans was trying to follow when with 7 km to go Simon Gerrans made his decisive move.

i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o621/kimiopn/BMC%202014/Australia/3-Gerransattacks_zpsea9307fc.jpg

Evans sprinted for 5th place. Orica GreenEdge made a 1-2 with Simon Clarke getting 2nd.

At the end Cadel Evans was a bit disappointed because he wanted more from this championships but he will now have a World Tour competition on his homeland to shine.

We can also now announce our squad for Tour Down Under:

Cadel Evans
Steve Morabito
Dominik Nerz
Sebastian Lander
Martin Kohler
Brent Bookwalter
Manuel Quinziato

Wish us luck!
