In my carreer i just realized that Sagan won GC in tirreno-adriatico. So what do you think about realismus of this database (i am using PCMdaily database 2014). Do you think "it could be" or is it totaly bullshit ? |

Which route was it? If it has no longer time trials or mountain stages (like this year's Paris-Nice), Sagan could easily be a favorite for the GC (he's capable of picking up bonus seconds in pretty much any sprint finish and can defend very well in the hills, if not putting time on the others).

well there was one 15.6km long TT as final stage, and then few hilly stages and few flat .. no mountain stages at all |

Then it's not necassarily unrealistic, I think. Bit strange, but not more than that.

Wouldn't even call it strange, just surprising if you consider the game will think of him as a sprinter. Sagan is not a bad time trialist (f.e. https://www.cqranking.com/men/asp/gen/...ceid=24039) and with only flat and hills, he could definitely challenge for the win like in the 2011 Tour de Pologne. Also if he's peaking for Milan San Remo, he'd likely be in better form than riders who will only peak for April classics/GTs.

I don't think it is unrealistic at all, with his sprint and hill ability he would likely get several stage wins and bonus seconds. With a TT that short, it would be very challenging for the other GC guys to pull back much time, especially since he really isn't that bad in the TT (and he is actually very very good at prologues).

Sorry, I'm not paying attention to Sagan- let's just spare a moment for Arne Van Gils.

Which edition did you do of the race? As said it depends on the route because over the years riders like Cancellara, Freire and Pozzatto have all won the overall in the race and Sagan fits right in there with these riders. |
