Welcome to Team Vontobel's Headquarters!
Our ambitious goal is to become an established brand in the world of cycling.
From beautiful Zürich (Switzerland) to the branches and future markets around the globe our colors will shine.
Many thanks for the opportunity go to the Tour commission and our generous partners.
Vontobel marketing wrote:
We are excited to announce the foundation of Team Vontobel. The organisation just succeeded the application process and looks forward to it's first Continental Tour season.
Vontobel Holding AG serves as the main sponsor for the team, while different partners render assistance.
For our company cycling represents the perfect marketing tool. Vontobel anticipates to raise value of brand recognition in it's significant markets (western Europe, southeast Asia and northern America).
The main virtues: diligence, humility and patience are shared by this great sport and our company, our employees. The particular Swiss desire for independence and freedom is perfectly satisfied by the joy of cycling.
There is a long road ahead, but until now everything runs encouraging with lots of enthusiasm and motivation. The kickoff has been made.
Enjoy the ride!

@Bushwackers
Thanks for the kind welcome. Guess we'll come along fine some agreements. It's kind of an incentive watching a successful swiss team like yours. Hope Vontobel can catch up someday.
Vontobel Team announcement:
After intense negotiations management and sponsoring partners get to an agreement regarding teams focus and goals for the upcoming season.
The choices made were decided unanimously, though not all of them came easy.
To ensure competitiveness we agreed about concentrating our forces mainly on Europe and Asia Tour races.
So we'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to our fans in northern America and promise to integrate more stops in the United States the 2015 season.
The official Team Vontobel goals for 2014 are:
Win Oberösterreichrundfahrt
Top5 Züri Metzgete
Top5 Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn – Frankfurt
Top10 Tour de Bretagne
Top10 Asia Tour Rankings |

Hmm another Swiss CT team that is also focussing on South East Asia, I must be a trend setter
I guess we just got a new main rival, hopefully we won't trip each other up in transfers too much.
I look forward to meeting you throughout the season

Not much intensions here to hire south east Asian riders at Vontobel, but there might be potential struggle about swiss talents.
Other than that we certainly will meet a lot the next season. Could be a fun to watch duel.

I won't... but expect nothing less than our epic battle for the 21st place in the Mini Man Game.

Thanks for the nice words. Will definitely hang around Metinvest HQ when resignings ended. There're indeed two or three guys of our interest (and affordable).

First calendar entries:
After consultations with tour commission and race organisers we are happy to confirm the very first entries in our season calendar.
Much to the joy of our donors authorizations were given for the highly anticipated races in Zürich and Frankfurt.
Signings:
Team Vontobel is proud to present it's very first rider contracts . All of our early signings are from Switzerland and in their twenties.
Raphael Addy, Théry Schir, Claudio Imhof, Simon Pellaud and Martin Kohler are all accepting minimum wages to take their chances in professional cycling and help Vontobel to build a core of talented Swiss riders.
The experts might remember Martin Kohler's performance at Vuelta a Andalucia when he rode for Team Peugeot in the MMG-Tour-Series. Several breakaway appearances lead to a surprising Top 20 overall and the KOM-Jersey within reach.
Even more remarkable are the recruitments of Marcel Wyss and Michael Schär from Good Energy (former Wiggle Professional Cycling). Without a doubt Vontobel will benefit from their skills and experience. Our thanks goes to Good Energy's management for the tough, but always fair and sincere negotiations.
Willkommen in Züri!
Spoiler
Note: The deal is for Raphael Addy a perfectly timed birthday present.

Strong signings indeed. Like that you only signed Swiss riders so far. Plus finding some leaders and nice talents.
Should be an interesting squad. |

Thanks, guys! Was a tough time creating some competitiveness with a limited national focus.
The ManGame is a very exciting experience so far were I can hardly sense the amount of hard work necessary developing.
Deep respect to everyone involved and SN in particular.
Vontobel announces two more signings
Remo Schuler is one of the better young compatriots when the landscape starts rolling (Hil: 73, MO: 72). We are extremely happy he was available and joins the squad.
Last season Steven Tronet was active for Team Sram-Riboxx where he achieved 528th place in the PCT-Tour ranking. The Calais-born frenchman will contribute sprinting power and might be able to grab some points in cobbled races (Spr: 75, Cob: 71).
| Name | | Age | Avg. | XP | Wage | | Remo Schuler | | 24 | 71,25 | 4.100 | 50.000 | | Steven Tronet | | 28 | 70,75 | 4.100 | 50.000 |

After hiring it's fifteens squad member Team Vontobel is able to enter the final pre season planning phase.
Reto Hollenstein was one of the few outstanding Swiss talents available and we're more than happy he decided to join our ranks. Without a doubt the most prestigious free agent signing for the team the past few days.
Another big achievement is the closed deal with sprinting powerhouse Armindo Fonseca. Many teams were interested in the Rennes native, but a nice wage and the appointment of fellow Frenchman (and great lead out) Stéphane Poulhiès made him sign with Vontobel.
With Pirmin Lang and Matteo Montaguti two skilled veterans were given contracts. From both can be expected to score some points and share there insight and anticipation during the season.
Andrea Manfredi might turn out a real gem, his climbing talents seems unlimited. At Vonotobel he'll get the time to develop and the freedom to try himself out whenever mountains are ahead.
| Name | | Age | Avg. | XP | Wage | | Armindo Fonseca | | 25 | 72,75 | 4.100 | 215.000 | | Reto Hollenstein | | 29 | 73,33 | 4.100 | 170.000 | | Pirmin Lang | | 30 | 70,83 | 4.100 | 50.000 | | Andrea Manfredi | | 22 | 68.83 | 2.41 | 50.000 | | Matteo Montaguti | | 30 | 72,75 | 4.100 | 55.000 | | Stéphane Poulhiès | | 29 | 69,42 | 4.100 | 50.000 |
