No, there's plenty for us to do on the PCM13 update. However, with basic editing knowledge it should be relatively easy to copy over most stuff from PCM13 to PCM12. |

Just because I'm curious: that would be true for the riders and teams maybe (although I never tried). But the graphics - hell, even the jerseys have to be resized one by one in pcm12 format. Right?
And how can you edit the starting date into 2014? |

You can resize more jerseys at once with batch converters.
Yes, converting a DB is not something you can do in 20 minutes, but it's not years of work 
And I believe it's Gam_config, but it might be Dyn_manager in 2012.

I wouldn't say it's much more than that, at least if you have a good base (i.e. you already have PCMDaily DBs for PCM12, which include the races, countries, etc).

All the graphics are compatible. As Jesley said, it's just a matter of finding a batch converter for the shirts, and it's done in 10 seconds.
In terms of changing the starting date - well, if your editing knowledge is this basic (no offense intended), it's not going to be easy to convert the DB. However, for someone who did perhaps toy with simple DB editing, e.g. adding a new race and stuff like that, it should be fairly straight forward. It's basically just a matter of copy/pasting. |

Testing the hypothesis - DB did get converted in about 20 minutes, but arranging the files took a bit longer  Anyway, here's a 'beta version' of PCMDaily's 2014 DB converted to PCM12. Needless to say, you need to have PCMDaily's 2013 DB, since it's based on that one.
I haven't done much in game-testing, so there are likely to be a couple of bugs; hopefully nothing major though. One thing that is certain is the lack of 2nd sponsors, since that feature no longer exists in PCM13 (and it'd be quite some work to re-add them for all teams); also, not sure how PCM12 handles aero helmets (they might be used in the mountains too, there's a way to avoid it happening in PCM13 but I doubt it works in 12).
Installation instructions can be found in the notepad file inside the download. If there's interest on it, perhaps after the next version of PCMDaily's PCM13 DB, a newer version for this could be done, including these few things missing. But for now, hopefully this version is good and don't hesitate to make any problems known

I add races once in a while, the starting year was just a thing I didn't get. But yeah, my editing knowledge is very basic. But luckily, there are more experienced database editors here on the forum who are willing to share their efforts with the community, which brings me to:

Well, I did some testing but it seems something is wrong with the graphics. In the Australian NC I only saw Focus, An Post and Jelly Belly jerseys for all the riders. I checked the size of the files and it's 417 kb, so I fear something went wrong converting the jerseys. Some helmets were missing too.
And then there are the dreadful pink squares: Ceramica Flaminia and 3M don't have their logo and minimaillot, Hincapie Sportswear and Synergy Baku are missing the logo and Gourmetfein the minimaillot.
Please don't get me wrong, I really appreciate your work. But you asked for feedback, so feedback you will get. ;-) |

Don't worry about it, I really meant when I said I hadn't tested it, so no surprise it has some (huge) flaws
Indeed something is wrong with the graphics. Seems like I completely forgot that the .tgas needed to be 32-bit Additionally, we've changed the way equipment is named in PCMDaily's DB from PCM12 to PCM13, so adjusting it all wasn't easy but I believe it should be all right now

Just to be sure, you know that 'trying/testing' is already playing, right? I mean, unless someone reports me a bug, there's nothing else to be released, that's the 'final' version (for the moment, since after PCMDaily's V2 gets released there might be other things added, but for now that's the complete thing).

Of course. I think one problem is that not many people around here are aware of this database.
Like I said before, I hadn't had time to test much - yet. But I will report some things later on. And come on people, this is solid gold for us pcm12 players. The least you can do to show your appreciation for this database is post some feedback.
edit: already I can report a missing logo and minimaillot for 5 Hour Kenda (pink squares, missed that one in the first version I think) and that Euskadi somehow now has the 2012 Orbea logo and minimaillot). I'll test 3d racing later.
edit2: Well, I didn't find any major flaws in 3D yet, except for Euskadi racing in Orbea jerseys (with Euskadi helmets though) and Cult Energy racing in LRO/Glud Marstrand kits.
