So to recap we have selected the course for the 2013 World Championships but we must now select the riders who will race on that course. Full details of the course for each discipline can be seen below.
*********
The number of riders each nation has qualified for the road race is based on the combined rankings by country and so with that in mind here are the number of riders each country has qualified for the 2013 World Championship Elite Road Race:

Finally, the TTT course is the same as the elite ITT.
The first step towards creating the team is the nomination process. Each team may nominate as many or as few of their own riders to ride in the world championships. The selectors then choose from the available riders to create the road race, time trial and team time trial squads. So every rider nominated in this thread will be made available for all three squads – this thread is for nominations for the road race, time trial and team time trial squads. The only exception is if a nation is participating in one event but not in others (for example it is in the TT and not the RR), in which case the riders nominated will obviously only be available for whatever their nation qualifies for. When nominating your riders please give their full name, as it makes it much easier for me to keep track.
With loaned riders, both the team which is loaning them and also the team that they are being loaned to may nominate them. Remember that only nominated rides may be chosen by the selectors, meaning that the worlds will only be contested by riders from active teams who nominate them. The only exception is in the team time trial where, if there are not enough nominated riders from teams, I will fill out each team from riders without a contract.
Teams who do not have enough riders nominated may be downgraded a level. For example if a team which is allowed to select 6 riders only has 4 who are nominated, they will be downgraded to only bringing 3 riders to the race. So it is worth nominating even just domestiques from these ‘smaller’ nations. To compensate for this one of the countries who qualify only 3 riders initially will now be bumped up to 6 riders.
Further, any teams whose most suitable riders aren't nominated may be withdrawn and replaced by one of the reserve teams. This means that if the only big star of a small country is not nominated that country will lose its position to the next reserve team in line. Thus nominating riders for the reserve teams is important.
You can also volunteer to become a selector for any of the countries in the WC. If you want this please say so in your post or you will miss out.
- To do this, you must have a rider in your team from that country, even if you are not nominating them.
- Once the nominations are in, I PM the selectors for each and every country, they then make their team selections, and the most selected riders are those who get to ride. If there are still any ties after 3 rounds of voting I will provide the tiebreaking vote.
- The more selectors a country has, the better. This is a great way to influence the game and a very fun part of the process, even if none of your riders are directly affected.
If you are confused about any of this post your question below and myself or one of the other experienced people will answer your question. If you haven’t done this before then it is also a good idea to check out last year’s thread for an example of what you have to do to nominate riders and become a selector: https://www.pcmdai...d_id=24681
Under 23 Startlists
Riders not selected for the Elite Road Race and aged 23 or under as of 26th September 2013 will be available for the U23 Road Race (so they must be born in October 1990 or earlier). Likewise riders not selected for the Elite Time Trial will be available for the U23 Time Trial. The startlists for these races will be compiled by the reporters from the available riders. Note that these do not have to be nominated at any point – all eligible riders will be available for selection.
Nominations will last approximately a week, ending at roughly noon on December 13th
