Wouldn't it be nice if we had a general big thread with a FAQ for DBmakers by DBmakers?

A couple of questions I have:
1: I read somewhere that there's a limit of national teams in DYN_national_team of 25. So it's not like you can add national teams and only the 25 best (by points) would participate to the worlds? (as in real life)
Not adding but editing possible in career.
2: I've only noticed this now but is the secondairy sponsor gone in pcm13?
Yes.
3: Are there any known limits for teams? Is this still the same as in pcm12 when it was 153 I think. I asked mede33 on cyanide forums if he tested the teamlimit and this was his answer: Yes, we test, and the limit is no more 153, we don't know if it's more or if it has been fully deleted.
So does anyone know?

Save as a 64x64 32-bit tga, name it something and place it in Gui/cyclist_photo. In DYN_cyclist of the database, there's a gene_sz_tga_photo column. Find your rider and add the name of the photo file to this column.
12: How do I replace a national team?
Replace the team you want to delete with the one you want in DYN_national_team. After adding the team, you need to connect it to its country in STA_country (fkIDnational_team) - don't forget to remove the link with the old team
13: Is there a way to adjust the maximum number of riders per team? So instead of 30, 15 for example.

14: What is the minimum amount of races(or races per category) to be able to start a career. If you only have a few races, it seems to crash.
15: I'm checking different races in the 3 different databases. In STA_race the collumn gene_sz_filename gives filenames that I can't find in my CM_Stages folder, how is that possible?
Since PCM 12~13 the system has changed and so if you have (for example) c1_halleingooigem in gene_sz_filename it means that any file starting with c1_halleingooigem will be a a variant for this race (so e.g. c1_halleingooigem_2013, ... if it was to be a stagerace its name would have to be c1_halleingooigem_01 which means that this stage is the first stage of the race. 16: What is the CDX file in CM_stages? What does it do and does the game need it?
This file is an easy-to-use tool for a fake stage, use notepad and you can link it to whatever stage you want.
If you have a CDX, CDS & ZCES file you can delete the CDX file, since the game will only use the CDS & zces files.
17: If I am playing a career and during a season somebody has released a nice team pack (including jerseys, bikes):
A: it is right that I can just edit the DB (for if I use it in the future) and in the career DB (to help me the same season.
A save-.game is basically just a database, so yes, it can be edited and tweaked in the same way as any other database.
B: When would be a good time to do this? Best in December or maybe better in July (contracts expiring so market is open for that team to get riders in)
Graphics can be added any time you like. When off-season months are recommended, it's usually when it comes to e.g. adding races.
18: Where can you find the correct names that are needed for the flags?
It's linked to STA_TGA in the Local.cdb.
19: I've created a new cyclist (in DYN_cyclist and gave him a contract (in DYN_contract_cyclist). But when I tried to select my team roster ingame, the game crashes. Also when I select this rider for a race, the game crashes before the race starts.
You must create the rider in DYN_cyclist and give him a contract (DYN_contract_cyclist) but you also need a line for the rider in DYN_cyclist_fitness_data and DYN_cyclist_satisfaction.
20: What does the table DYN_subsquad_config do?

How many frames/helmets/wheels can you put in 1 equpment marques for the last one to be clickable?
The thing is, it's no problem for road races, but once it's a TT there are e.g. more frames to be showed.

However, I'd say that it's OK to have more than 19 in one marque if it's a mix of TT and road equipment - just make sure to have the TT stuff on top. |

I have a picture of a rider here at home, I know him very well and he's quite good so I want to add him to the game. How do I do this? import in photoshop, go save as ... and then?

Ok, here's another one: if I'd want to change a national team (for example I want to delete Lithuania and add Ireland). What steps do I go through?
I take just editing dyn_national_team isn't enough?

I figured I could ask my questions here as well, since the goal is to make it a general thread(first post says so )
1. Is there a way to adjust the maximum number of riders per team? So instead of 30, 15 for example.
2. What is the minimum amount of races(or races per category) to be able to start a career. If you only have a few races, it seems to crash.
Edit: I found out that if there are not enough non-WT races:
1) The sponsor screen of PCT(and CT) will crash, since they cannot come up with enough sponsor goals(I guess)
2) WT races aren't forced to ride by WT teams anymore(which is annoying )

For example the race: Halle - Ingooigem, in gene_sz_filename it says the filename is c1_halleingooigem
but nor in my installation folder or in the folder that came with this DB this file can't be found, there is c1_halleingooigem_2012 and c1_halleingooigem_2013 and I can't imagne that the years don't have to be there, because the game will now look for another file, right?
So far I have only a clean install of PCM 2013 + FCD database (all parts + variants)

the years aren't counted in teh filenames as they are just varients of the c1_halleingooigem.
