Copa America de Ciclismo Preview
The Mini ManGame season opens in Brazil, with a flat classic around Rio de Janeiro. It will be the first test of the sprinters, so who will come out on top?
Miche have all the high expectation placed upon them with Fabio Borghesi and Fabio Sabatini being the fastest in the field, and it would be surprise if the Italian squad did not create a leadout train.
But while these are the only two on 77 sprint, the field behind them is quite competitive.
The likes of Wim Stroetinga (Rucanor), Graeme Brown (Commonwealth Bank), Crescenzo D'Amore (Electrabel) and Aleksei Markov (Katusha) will all look to take advantage of the lack of hills on route.
There is also the question of stamina, with many sprinters being stronger than Miche in that department. This includes Christian Omar Clavero (Kalev), Peter Hawkins (Node4-Giordana), Abdelbasset Hannachi (Argo Airways) and Adam Pierzga (Fuji) - and certainly the game seems to be favouring these sprinters when it assigned out the race numbers.
Clavero is one of three Argentinians who will hope to do well in this South American leg of the calendar - the others being Mauricio Guillermo Frazer (Coldeportes) and Dario Diaz (Fuji).
18 teams have a rider with a 75+ sprint stat - so the race really is quite open.

Stroetinga surely should be able to win, top-5 would satisfy me though

A top 10 would be a great result for our team. Not too many ambitions, as the race is pure flat and every team sent their strongest sprinters |

Not high expectations here, considering that Jules has 75 SP 70 STA we could be able to reach a Top 15 though. |

It's not the race the team is looking forward the most, but Tleubayev might have a shot here. Everyone is so close to each other here.

This is expected to be the worst race of them all for my team. If a picture is taken of one of my riders I'll call that a succes!

seeing the fact that 18 teams have a rider with 75SP and I dont have one, I'll take a top 10 as a great achievement
good luck!

Commonwealth Bank is betting everything on Graeme Brown on this first race. This is probably the only stage he can contest the win and we can build him a good train with three guys over 70 on Flat stat.
Good luck to all! |

Same here, my sprinter is 74. Interesting to see how random the results might be. |

Thinking daily form will decide this one, we got a shot in the sprint but being only one of the 18 I'll take a top 10. Would like to see one of us in the break though, not sure how aggressive we will actually be.
